#there's a line in the outline that's like 'Jotaro is more comfortable now and is uncomfortable about that'
Note
"Jotaro & Polnareff fic" >:3
(ask game over here)
This one shockingly has an outline??? That I will not share, because it spoils literally the whole fic, but basic concept is:
four scene* fic spanning from SDC to pre-SO, charting the relationship between Jotaro & Polnareff juxtaposed with the Jotaro & Star Platinum and Polnareff & Silver Chariot relationships JUXTAPOSED with their own readings on and reactions to the other's relationships and how that shifts the relationship between the two of them. If you are thinking, "That sounds very conceptually complicated," there are extra layers on top of that because of course there are, what did you expect from a Queenie fic.
The big hold-up here is just that I need the time and energy to write. Which is in very short supply these days. And also I have to be in the headspace to write incredibly complicated and entangled relationships (my favorite) and also Jotaro (sometimes writing him is like herding cats) and also Polnareff (literally every time I sit down to write him the first bit is just me being like "HOW DO I EVEN WRITE THIS GUY").
*I say "scene" but you know that once I start writing either the scenes are going to get extremely long or it's going to wind up being four chapters or both. Four one-scene chapters--where each scene is way longer than any scene has a right to be and also time is hecked--is probably realistic, given who I am as a person.

Stardust Crusader Wolf Pack AU
[From the beginning- CH1]
<Previous Chapter     Next Chapter>
It took time to feel like he really belonged to the Joestar pack- not being related by blood or adoption like most of the others, but Kakyoin felt like he learned to navigate the dynamics fairly well. After being isolated for so long with just his father and human mother it seemed almost like fate when he met Jotaro at college. Both had chosen to attend Cornell to escape the bounds of family territory and struck up a fast friendship even though they were studying for different professions. Kakyoin’s gift for art and science led him to study architecture, while Jotaro seemed to select ecology and forest management on the basis that he would be guaranteed time away from people and in nature.
The years at school quickly passed and it became more unusual for Kakyoin to return to his father and mother’s house for breaks than accompany Jotaro back to NYC to be with the rest of his pack. He still made an effort to speak with his parents of course, and video calls made it much easier on all of them, but his father always had been a lone wolf. Not much room in his life for other people- including his wife and son. So, when Jotaro took up the responsibilities of pack alpha it wasn’t a hard choice for Kakyoin to follow as the beta.
Even after knowing Jotaro for 10 years, the man still manages to surprise him though. This time he’s almost overwhelmed because that’s another wolf he’s carrying through the forest. Kakyoin is stopped in his tracks, probably a good thing he’s stunned silent as Jotaro seems unusually agitated. What are they going to do? Obviously, she’s not the threat if Jotaro’s bringing her back to the cabin, but she’s another wolf in their territory. Are they going to let her pass through? Or invite her to stay, at least until the mystery of why she’s injured is cleared up? What is the rest of the pack going to do, do they…?
Kakyoin’s spiraling thoughts are cut off as he processes the order from his alpha. Right, he’ll clear the way, make it safe for the new packmate.
He runs into Mr. Joestar and Polnareff first in the clearing in front of the cabin and promptly sends them out in the opposite direction after explaining the circumstance. Avdol is swift in his search for the first aid kit, so Kakyoin goes on patrol around the perimeter again. No telling what other bizarre thing was going to happen this afternoon, it was best to be prepared.
It seems like forever but what was probably two hours at most he hears Avdol tell the others it was ok to go inside again, but to be respectful of their guest. Guest… his instincts may have been right earlier about the ‘new packmate’. Kakyoin finishes the last leg of his patrol before he too goes inside. Mr. Joestar has already made himself comfortable in the big arm chair in the lounge, Kakyoin can only see the top of the woman’s head from this angle, but the smell of her blood is still in the air almost making him nauseous. Polnareff is hovering in the doorway leading to the kitchen and dining room so he ushers him in to sit and leave the two alphas to discuss whatever business they had.
Avdol is rummaging through the fridge when Kakyoin makes his way into the kitchen, “Avdol?”
“Hmm? Ah, Kakyoin. You’re curious about our guest, yes? Help me prepare the meal while I tell you what I know.”
“Tell me how I can help.”
“Here, cut this into cubes while I gather the rest.” Avdol hands over the large selection of meat he’d retrieved from the fridge, “Unfortunately I don’t know much right now. Her name is (y/n). She sustained an injury to her leg. Multiple injuries actually. With silver birdshot.”
“Silver? Her attackers knew she was a wolf?”
“Wolf hunters are uncommon nowadays, but not unheard of. No. I’m more concerned that it was small pellets used. The hunters weren’t aiming to kill.”
Kakyoin nearly drops the knife he was holding over the cutting board, “Not aiming to kill? What kind of hunter doesn’t kill their prey?”
“The worst kind.”
The kitchen is silent while the two men work to prepare the food. Once the ingredients are all in the pot and simmering away Kakyoin retreats to his own room to contemplate the situation.
Without more information to go over he’s stuck in a loop. It’s a welcome interruption when Avdol calls him for dinner, hopefully they’ll get to the bottom of this quickly and lay it to rest.
Avdol must have been keeping his mind occupied with cooking, the table has an assortment of bread rolls and side dishes that were not even started when Kakyoin left the kitchen. He takes his seat at the large round table between an already seated Mr. Joestar and Polnareff. Avdol is placing the last dish on the table when they all flinch at the quiet whine of pain from the lounge area.
Jotaro and (y/n) make their way into the dining room and everyone seems to freeze for a moment. She hesitates but seems to pull herself to stand up straighter and lean less on Jotaro’s arm as they walk to the open seats. Another realization snaps into place in Kakyoin’s mind. This woman is not just another member of the pack, he’d bet his last dollar she’s another alpha.
“(Name), this is the pack. Everyone, this is (Name).” Jotaro does a poor job of introducing them, he seems to be more focused on loading up his plate and subtly offering the food to (y/n). They go around the table and introduce themselves properly and she seems to settle into her seat as everyone begins eating.
“I don’t mean to push you unnecessarily, but,” Kakyoin is interrupted by Polnareff.
“What the hell happened out there?”
Jotaro growls a bit at the line of questioning but Kakyoin persists, “I wouldn’t have put it quite like that, but you see we…”
“Noriaki.”
Jotaro doesn’t have to say more, the command was evident in his tone. Stop questioning, now.
(y/n) doesn’t heed this warning though. Instead, she puts a hand on his arm as if to hold Jotaro back before she addresses the group. “You guys deserve to know the truth. I don’t blame you for wanting to know what happened in your territory.” She pauses and puts her hands in her lap, head bowed as if apologizing. “I’m sorry I brought the trouble to your doorstep, but the ones who shot me, they were a band of wolf hunters. That wasn’t even the first time I’ve run into these ones, but that was the closest they’ve ever gotten to…” (y/n) trails off as Jotaro growls a bit more. It’s unlike him to be so expressive, he must still be reeling from his shift.
“Anyway, they’ve been on my tail since the last town over. I thought I’d have an advantage if I got away from humans and could shift and take them on, but they ran me off the road when I wasn’t expecting it. So I ran. All I could think of is I should have listened to my parents, not strayed so far from family territory.” She shakes her head to clear it before continuing.
“It’s been getting bad for lone wolves for a while now. You hear rumors and think ‘oh that won’t happen to me’. I’m not even sure what gang, or cartel, or whatever these guys were working for. I doubt they were just ordinary religious zealots; I don’t think I would have gotten away if they were.” (y/n) looks down at her plate and picks around at her food as the pack takes in this information.
Kakyoin feels a cold chill move down his spine. It has been a long time since he’s been a lone wolf. But he remembers. How isolating it was, no support system, far away from home territory…
“I’m sorry for entering your territory without permission. But I want to thank you. For helping me,” she turns and looks at Jotaro, “for saving me.”
Jotaro has been entirely focused on (y/n) throughout dinner, this may be the first time he looks away from her as he lets out a gruff “Don’t mention it.”
Kakyoin wears a small smile on his face. Yeah, Jotaro is hooked already.

I hope you are all ready for what’s coming- I finished my first draft outline for this story and its currently sitting at 52 chapters total. Expect a lot more action, monsters, supernatural things, new original characters! I’m still going to aim for at LEAST one chapter a week, but with the outline done it may be more if I have time :)

Interesting- Jotakak SerialKiller!AU Chapter 4
Summary: Kakyoin shows Jotaro a side of himself that few people ever expect. In return, he sees a side of his boyfriend that he never would have expected...
Warning: There is some mild violence against a background character in this chapter. Also, mild warning for language and some referenced lemon-action that isn’t posted in this version.
Edit: Here’s the uncensored version on AO3
Everything finally came to a head one day at school. Kakyoin had been sent out to retrieve some worksheets the teacher forgot in his office that he would need for his next class. Jotaro had volunteered to go with him, but the teacher told him to sit down and stop trying to get out of class since Kakyoin could certainly handle a stack of papers on his own. Kakyoin wouldn’t have minded the company, though- having Jotaro around was still fun and far more interesting than being alone or dealing with any of his classmates, even with his change in behavior.
Kakyoin retrieved the worksheets easily enough and began making his way back to class. A few problems arose, however, in the form of six male students skipping class and smoking in the stair well. They had the style of typical Japanese high school delinquents with scars and badly cut and/or dyed hair, but Kakyoin wasn’t impressed or intimidated by boys like them.
Kakyoin attempted to slip through an opening between them to get up the stairs. “Pardon me.” One of the boys who had been leaning with his back against the wall decided to stick his leg out and block Kakyoin’s path by planting it firmly against the railing in front of him. Kakyoin looked at him, feeling bored and irritated by such a childish attempt at intimidation. “Did you need something?”
The boy in question smirked and lowered his leg, moving to stand directly in Kakyoin’s path and block his way up the stairs with his full body. “Yeah.” He leaned into Kakyoin’s personal space, far too close for Kakyoin’s comfort. “Those sunglasses. They seem pretty cool. Hand ‘em over.”
Kakyoin sighed, feeling even more irritated and leaning back slightly to avoid smelling the cheap tobacco of whatever brand of cigarette the boy had been smoking. “Sorry, but they’re prescription. Even if I did give them to you, it would just make you dizzy and cause you to stumble around like even more of a fool than you already are. Now, kindly get out of my way- my teacher is waiting for me to return with these papers.”
The boy’s eyebrow twitched as his face turned into an angry snarl. “The hell’d you just say to me?”
Kakyoin rolled his eyes under his sunglasses, scowling at the idiot blocking his path. “I said you would look more foolish with these sunglasses and to ‘kindly get out of my way’. Or, in terms you would understand- ‘get the hell out of my way before I make you cry like a bitch in front of your friends’. Are we clear?”
The boy looked positively furious as he grabbed the front of Kakyoin’s shirt tightly in his fist. “Oho, you think you’re a tough guy, huh?!”
One of the boy’s friends glanced around. “Dude, you should be careful- that’s the guy that’s always hangin’ around Kujo from class 2B!”
He looked over Kakyoin’s shoulder at his friend. “Why the fuck should I be worried about that prick?! You think I’m afraid of him?! I could kick his fuckin’ gaijin ass and slap this bitch in front of hi-!” He never got a chance to finish his sentence, as Kakyoin’s unoccupied hand had curled into a fist and slammed into his nose, effectively silencing him and forcing him to stumble back to fall on the stairs and release Kakyoin’s shirt. “?!!”
The other guys got up from their various relaxed positions and looked at their friend’s bloody face. “Asahi-kun?!”
Kakyoin ignored them and set the papers down on a higher up step so that they were out of the way. After the stack of worksheets was out of harm’s way, he cracked his knuckles and glared down at the punk lying beneath him. He was positively livid.
“You could have just let me walk by. That would have been the end of it.” He grabbed the boy by the front of his shirt, parodying what had been done to him earlier. “But, I’m afraid you’ve made three poor choices just now. Shall we go over them?” He placed his free hand over the boy’s already damaged nose and gripped it firmly. “Mistake number one: You grabbed me without my permission.” He used his grip on the boy’s nose to further snap it out of shape, utilizing the break in the cartilage he’d made earlier.
The boy let out a loud yelp of pain. “GYAAAAHH!”
Kakyoin shifted his weight onto one foot while raising the other over the boy’s foot, which was positioned over a gap in the stairs. “Mistake number two: You called me a bitch, and I am NO ONE’S bitch.” He stomped down with a chilling crunch, breaking the boy’s ankle and making his foot twist around to face the wrong way.
The boy screamed that time, the sound echoing off of the walls. “AAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!”
“Asahi-kun!” One of his friends yelled and made a move to grab Kakyoin. “Get the fuck off of him, you bast-!” He stopped and froze when Kakyoin’s free hand produced a green-handled butterfly flick blade and easily snapped it open. Without a word, Kakyoin stabbed the closest boy in the leg as a warning to the others to stay away, the boys scrambling to catch their injured friend before he fell down the stairs and broke anything. “!!!”
Kakyoin smirked and looked back down at his main target, looming over the bleeding and crying boy beneath him. “Your third mistake, however, was the worst one of all..if not for that one, I may have let you off with a warning..” He brought the knife down to press against the boy’s cheek, the blade perfectly sharp and already causing a bead of blood to slip out of a shallow cut. “Do you know what that mistake was?” He could hear the sound of footsteps in the distance, probably onlookers drawn by the scream earlier.
The boy tried to shake his head, but he whimpered when the action made the knife cut him again. “P-Please, just-just let me go!”
Kakyoin ignored him and positioned the knife where he wanted it to start cutting properly. “Mistake number three…” He started pressing the knife in through the pliant flesh of the punk’s cheek, his voice low and dangerous. “You insulted my BOYFRIEND. That was a very STUPID thing to do. I think the responsible thing to do here would be to let everyone know what an idiot you are, don’t you agree?”
The screaming and begging from the boy was music to Kakyoin’s ears as he began carving into his face. He released the boy’s shirt to instead grip his head, holding it firmly in place so the lines would come out straight. By the time he was finished, the boy’s tears were mixing beautifully with the blood and making him scream louder from the fresh pain of the salty tears getting into his open wounds.
Kakyoin eventually released him to look over his handiwork, pleased with how it turned out. The message was simple and straightforward, the characters for “baka” (meaning idiot/fool) were outlined with a crooked heart that cut partially into his lower eyelid and the corner of his mouth. All that was left was to sign it-
“Nori..?” He heard the deep voice of his boyfriend above him and looked up. He spotted Jotaro half a flight up the stairs, looking down at him with the widest eyes Kakyoin had ever seen on his face. He looked shocked, but not horrified at all.
Kakyoin smiled up at him sweetly, waving with the hand holding the bloody knife casually. “Ah, hey, Jojo. I’ll be with you in just a moment- I’m almost done.” He leaned down to the boy with a terrifying, sadistic smirk. “Looks like you got lucky- I’d rather go spend time with my boyfriend than finish dealing with you. Just one more thing before I go, though.” He pressed the blade to the boy’s throat, feeling the quivering of his adam’s apple under the blade as it drew a thin line across his throat in warning. “If you or your little friends ever start anything with me again, say anything negative about my boyfriend, or if anyone else finds out about what happened today..my face will be the last thing that ANY of you will get to see in this world. Are we clear?” When the boy only whimpered in response, Kakyoin pressed the knife in a bit deeper. “ARE WE CLEAR?” He asked more firmly.
“Yes! Yes, we are! Yes!” The boy answered frantically, sobbing out loud.
“Good.” Kakyoin smiled and stood up straight. He grabbed the boy’s sleeve and used it to wipe the blood off of his knife before pocketing it again and going to retrieve the stack of papers from earlier. He walked up the stairs to where Jotaro was waiting for him and gave him that same sweet smile from earlier. “I think I’ll leave these outside of the classroom so we can go talk. Sound good?”
“…Mh…” Was the grunted answer he received as the two made their way up to the classroom.
After leaving the papers outside of the door and knocking to let the teacher know they were there, Kakyoin followed Jotaro to an empty classroom on the far side of the building. Once they were both inside, Jotaro shut and locked the door before finally turning to look at Kakyoin.
“What was that about?” Jotaro asked as he watched Kakyoin sit casually on top of the teacher’s desk.
“Oh, nothing to worry about. We simply had a disagreement and I resolved it.” Kakyoin said while leaning his weight back onto his hands.
“Uh huh.” Jotaro walked up to him, looking down at Kakyoin with an unreadably neutral expression. “And did this ‘disagreement’ involve me?”
Kakyoin tilted his head to the side, bringing a finger to his chin in a mock-thoughtful gesture. “Weeeell..not originally, no..but your name did come up in an unflattering way. It’s fine, though. Like I said- I resolved it.”
“With a knife?” Jotaro questioned.
“It was effective.” Kakyoin said while shrugging, looking up at his boyfriend. “Does that bother you?”
“Yeah…but not like that…” He replied.
Kakyoin was confused about what Jotaro meant by that until he suddenly found himself being pressed back into the desk with 195 centimeters of height and 82 kilograms of pure muscle on top of him while familiar lips firmly pressed against his own.
Kakyoin was a bit surprised, to say the least. Even with Jotaro’s shift in behavior lately, the most they’d ever done at school were light kisses when no one was around and walking with Jotaro’s arm around him. Now, though, they were full on making-out on a teacher’s desk with Jotaro’s tongue already finding its way into his mouth. It was a welcome change of pace, though, and Kakyoin soon found himself enjoying the deep, passionate kiss that Jotaro was giving him.
Jotaro’s hands began to slide around Kakyoin’s body, one stroking along his side and the other squeezing his thigh. “Mhh..Nori..” Jotaro panted against Kakyoin’s lips when they finally broke for air, but he quickly dove back down to bite and kiss at Kakyoin’s neck. “Fuck..you’re hot..”
Kakyoin sighed and tilted his head, giving his boyfriend more room. “Hmhh..good to know you won’t get turned off by those little displays..” He unbuttoned the top of his uniform shirt enough that Jotaro could pull it aside and bite further down his neck, wringing a low moan out of Kakyoin from the eager attention.
Jotaro sucked a deep bruise in a spot that would be hidden by Kakyoin’s shirts later before speaking again. “Does that happen a lot?”
Kakyoin shrugged with his opposite shoulder to avoid bumping Jotaro in the face. “Sometimes. There are a few things I don’t tolerate: People calling me anything effeminate. People touching me without my permission. And..” He laced his fingers through Jotaro’s hair in a soothing, affectionate gesture. “People insulting or threatening someone I care about.”
“……” Jotaro was quiet and still for a moment. Kakyoin was fine with that, he just continued running his fingers through Jotaro’s dark locks. Finally, he moved his head back up to look Kakyoin in the eyes. “Do I have permission to touch you?” The I really want to touch you was left unsaid, but Kakyoin picked up on it nonetheless.
“Jojo…” With a quiet chuckle, Kakyoin carefully removed Jotaro’s signature hat from his head. He enjoyed the way the larger boy’s ears turned a little red and he averted his eyes- he hated feeling defenseless and open, but he clearly trusted Kakyoin enough that he didn’t even try to get his hat back. Kakyoin set the hat aside and brought his hands up to cup the sides of Jotaro’s face while looking him in the eyes. “How do you want to touch me? Depending on your answer, I may say yes.”
There was no hesitation when Jotaro replied. “I want to worship you.”
A shiver ran down Kakyoin’s spine at the conviction with which Jotaro spoke. The serious look in his eyes, despite the dusting of red along his ears, was almost intoxicating. “Jotaro…” Kakyoin’s smile turned into a teasing smirk as he laid himself out appealingly on the desk. “That was the right answer. You have my permission.”
“That..That was..incredible, Jojo..” He smiled down at his boyfriend with a little less sadism this time, more joking rather than serious now that he was caught in his post-orgasmic afterglow. “I never thought you’d be that good..have you actually done this before? Do I need to be jealous?”
“No.” Jotaro replied, his voice a bit raspy from the serious fucking that his throat just endured. “You’re the only one.”
“Good.” Kakyoin petted his boyfriend’s head, stroking the mess he’d made of his hair into a slightly better shape. “Would you like me to return the favor?”
Jotaro closed his eyes and leaned into Kakyoin’s touch. “Hm..don’t need to..”
Kakyoin was about to say that he really didn’t mind (even if he may not be as good as Jotaro at it), when he sat up a bit more and looked down. He saw that, at some point, Jotaro had slipped his cock out of his pants and it was now softening just like Kakyoin’s own. He also noticed a splash of white on the teacher’s desk in front of Jotaro’s lap…
“Did..Did you..” Kakyoin blinked, looking both surprised and confused. Jotaro’s hands had been on him nearly the entire time, there was no way he’d been touching himself. So..that meant.. “Did you just..cum from sucking me off..?”
“……” Jotaro tilted his head down slightly, the tips of his ears a little red but his expression otherwise as calm and stoic as ever “..It was hot…”
“………” Kakyoin stared silently for a moment before his face split into a big grin and he climbed off of the desk, right into his surprised boyfriend’s lap. Kakyoin then cupped Jotaro’s cheeks in his hands and forced him to lift his head again so he could kiss him on the lips.
“…?” Jotaro was surprised at first, but he seemed unable to deny Kakyoin anything and was soon kissing him back.
The kiss was tender and loving, filled with warmth and adoration that contrasted starkly with the fact that Kakyoin was still naked (aside from the shirt barely hanging onto his elbows) and there was cum drying on the desk directly behind him. They stayed like that for a while, taking their time kissing and making out and just being close to one another.
Kakyoin was the one to end the kiss just as he had started it, smiling at Jotaro and stroking his cheeks with his thumbs. “I’m so glad you’re mine- you really are perfect for me. I’m very lucky.” He kissed the corner of Jotaro’s mouth sweetly and gazed at him.
Jotaro looked away, unable to meet the sincerity and adoration in Kakyoin’s eyes. “……” He didn’t say anything back, but the look in his eyes and the way he quietly squeezed Kakyoin’s hand said everything:
“I’m lucky to have you.”
“I don’t want you to ever leave me.”
“I love you.”
Kakyoin squeezed Jotaro’s hand back to return every sentiment that remained unspoken, happy to simply have the other boy by his side.

Story time~
Shark!Jotaro au belongs to @sunsetfemke
Too early, or too late. He wasn’t sure which one to think, but it was just too something. Because holy shit it was one in the morning and Kakyoin hated how tired he felt as he walked. He trudged his way down the shore line, dragging his tired feet through the coarse grain of the sand on the beach. When he and Jotaro had met up earlier and hung out, Jotaro had told him he had something he wanted him to see. When Kakyoin asked him about it, and what it was, the shark had told him that he wouldn’t show him until later in the night, and when asked why, the answer was because he couldn’t. To say Kakyoin was confused would be an understatement. Jotaro then told him to come back to their spot in the early hours of the morning, the best time being around one. And now here he was, not at all excited to be walking around in the dark of the night.
Oh yeah, it was recommended by his boyfriend that he not bring a flashlight because it would, “take away from his experience.” What did he even mean by that? Doesn’t really matter at the moment, his focus more on avoiding stepping on any spurs, rocks, shells or any living creature. He was feeling around all of the rocks for any familiar scratching along the rocks, from Jotaro’s claws when he pulls himself up out of the water. He was also doing his best to avoid any tide pools that may have surfaced during the night, not wanting any unplanned occurrences with any strange creatures that night. He already had one planned one, so no thanks.
When his fingers brush over the familiar grooves in the rocks surface, a grin splits his face and he leans against it, instead pressing his back to it and deciding to wait until Jotaro came to him. He could feel the chill of the rock, that has soaked in the cool night air, through his suit. He looked up to the crescent shape of the moon, the sliver of white in the black very slight and barely gave off any light. The shimmer of it off of the inky black darkness offered a hint of serenity to the mysterious danger of the ocean at night. He also felt like had been waiting for ages and was starting to fall asleep against the rock and knew he would hate himself in the morning if he fell asleep by the ocean again.
He sighed and cupped his hands around his mouth to carry his voice over the gentle crash of the waves against the shore.
“Jotaro! Where are you? Are you here?” He called out, looking around and listening for any noise that would give away his fishy lover.
“Yes, I’ve been here for some time now.”
The voice came from behind him, up on the rock he had been laying on and it almost scared the piss out of him. The redhead turned around quickly and looked up at the top of the rock, eyes wide as he takes in the dark shadow of a moving shape atop the rock. Two eyes, or what Kakyoin assumed to be eyes, but they looked more like a cat’s eyes when they shine in the dark. He had no idea that shark ha that as well. Kakyoin would’ve been angry, but he was more spooked than anything, a pout taking shape on his lips instead.
“So you instead just let me sit here, in the cold, getting cold? When it could’ve saved us both some body heat? Aren’t you getting cold?” He asked, huffing a breath out his nose as those eyes kept staring right down at him. When the other made no gesture to move, even slightly, Kakyoin decided to himself. He shifted to get a better grip on the rock and try to pull himself up onto it to join Jotaro up there, so he could at least try and see whatever it was the other had him come all the way out here for in the middle of the night, during the cool and chilly weather and the darkest time. It was then the other moved, and he moved to even stop Kakyoin from getting up there with him. Jotaro put his hand on Kakyoin’s shoulder and put a little force behind the press, keeping the man there instead.
“No, stay there.” Jotaro’s voice came smoothly and yet commandingly, rumbling out of his chest as he blinked downto Kakyoin, and it only seemed to add to the confusion and curiosity that Kakyoin was already brimming with.
“Why? Don’t you have something to show me? How can I view it from down here if you are up there?” The redhead was looking wide eyed to the shark, his brows furrowed in almost frustration. His eyes were searching for some kind of answer, a sign, anything. He was even trying to catch the outline of an item near or on Jotaro. Nothing, just those bright, shining eyes in the dark. Almost like stars.
“No, you’ll be able to see just fine from down there, don’t worry.” Came an almost gentle reply from the larger, and then Kakyoin could see him start to move up there. Shifting on the rock, he could see the others claws scratching over the hard surface, leaving new marks along it. He positioned himself in such a way, and when he stopped, it took only the blink of an eye and a flash of movement and he was gone. Right into the ocean.
And it. Was. Mesmerizing.
The water that came up and around the others large body shimmered and shone around Jotaro as he dove in. Ethereal light flew around and splattered into the water, light flecking along the surface as his boyfriend resurfaces. Kakyoin was at a loss for words, completely blown away.
“Kakyoin, are you alright? What did you think?” The Shark asked, but not really needing to as he looks over Kakyoin’s face and can see the exact words that were buzzing around in his head. His lips twitched a little bit as he swam back up to the shore, noting his his human’s eyes were more focused on the vibrant colors shining against his tail with each stroke of it through the water.
“What is that, it’s so..” Kakyoin’s voice was small and soft, and his brain could produce so many words to try and describe the vibrant shimmer in the ocean that lit up the dark, but nothing seemed good enough, nothing did it justice. It looked like magic, and KAkyoin was having trouble wrapping his head around it.
Jotaro could only laugh softly at the child-like whimsy that was very evident on the others face, and shining in his eyes, He pulled himself forward and back onto shore to gently take the others hand in his larger one. Kakyoin turned his attention down to Jotaro, pulling his focus from the water as the green faded and the otherworldly shine came back to Jotaro’s eyes.
“Then come in with me.” The shark proposed in his soft rumble, squeezing the smaller hand in his own.
“What?” Kakyoin’s eyes widened a bit at the proposition before looking back out to the inky abyss. The prospect of getting into the water after the sun down was a bit of a shock and struck something more primal in Kakyoin. Something that screamed danger deep in his blood. His hand clenched a bit in Jotaro’s larger palm and the shark squeezed it gently to try and ease the tension from him curiously. Kakyoin turned his focus back to Jotaro and he could see the curiosity in those bright eyes that shone in the dark. Kakyoin swallowed the lump in his throat and spoke up again.
“Get in there this late? Something could get curious and come up, poke or bite.” It all kinda tumbled out of his mouth, and Jotaro could only cock a brow at him.
“And what would be so curious as to attack us?” The other’s tone seemed to be a bit more firm than the curious one he had taken on in his look.
And he was right, Kakyoin hadn’t really let it sink in that he was holding hands with one of the top predators in the ocean. What has a large e nough death wish to swim right up to a Great White and try to take a bite out of it and it’s little human passenger? The prospect of a night swim really lost all of its scariness and fear when you go swimming with a shark, at least when you’re Noriaki Kakyoin.
Kakyoin squeezed his hand and smiled to him, letting himself be pulled into the chilly blackness.
“Oh my God this is freezing, Jotaro!” He was quick to lean fully into Jotaro’s larger frame, the shark’s skin always a flame with natural warmth. “How can you live..” His snarky comment died off quickly as he eyes were caught by that mystical glow, now so close he was literally touching it. He raked his fingers a little rough through the surf and when the blue lit up in the trail of it, that awed smile reappeared on his face and he was once again speechless.
Jotaro kept their hands together, holding ot him as he watched Kakyoin wade out up to his waist, the man’s eyes fixed on the glow. The look in his eyes reminded Jotaro of a young pup getting to lay eyes on a whale for the first time and it made Jotaro’s heart and stomach clench up in the most delightful of ways.
“This is what you wanted to show me?” Kakyoin only spoke up again when they were out past the sandbar, the human now straddling across Jotaro’s belly like a surfboard, the shark leaned back comfortably, swishing his tail lazily and his arms gently splashing to keep the gentle glow continuous for his human boyfriend. “Jotaro this is so beautiful.” He spoke softly, his hands coming up to cup the other’s cheeks, smiling happily. Jotaro shifted to sit up so they were closer, his hand rubbing up the wetsuits back the rough skin of his hands scratching up it lightly in a way that made Kakyoin shiver slightly, but the smile never faltered. He cradled the human closer to himself as he nodded.
“Thank you for this Jotaro.” He said softly, pressing their foreheads together, their breaths mingling and warm in the chill of the night and Jotaro only smile just a little more, nuzzling their noses gently, a giggle bubbling up and out of Kakyoin.
“It’s actually plankton.” Jotaro explained, looking to the gentle glow that framed their bodies in the water. “It’s a defense mechanism of theirs, a bioluminescence to try and ward of any predator that would want to try and eat them, trying to convince them that they are actually poisonous, and..” And he was off, almost lecturing Kakyoin on the plankton. And Kakyoin loved it. Jotaro’s eyes it up again, but in a different way, and he loved it. When Jotaro got excited and chatty about the ocean , it was so amazing.
The human shifted on the shark to get more comfortable, laying his head down on his shoulder, just right next to the others gills, seeing them twitch and flutter as the other talked, and it made him smile just all that more. He got this inspired aura around him, and this cute little look on his face.
Jotaro was swimming gentle circles around the surface, body rocking gently and chest rumbling with his words, blood warm and it was all just so soothing to the tired man. Kakyoin yawned softly and closed his eyes as he continued to listen, Jotaro now going on about squid he’s seen that share similar properties. Kakyoin nuzzled his face into his shoulder, curling up on him and letting himself be lulled off.
And if he could he would fall asleep like this every night. With his warm, safe shark bed and his living night light.
