At first, we were given descriptions. I got “cute mouse” and my partner got “old fashioned sheep”

Using webchemy we created silhouettes and then went into Photoshop to slap on some details here and there. Then it was our first dive into Zbrush... of course the struggle real. Not because of the model making... but it was because zbrush kept. crashing. every. single. time.

Other than that... it was enjoyable to create derpy characters! To make them look like they’re from the same universe, we decided burgundy swirly hair would be the common trend. We also wanted them to be dapper which is why my mouse has a bow tie for the nose and the sheep has a top hat

au where keefe is a mermaid and one day he comes across this- glowing thing hidden near the bottom of the ocean. he fucks around and finds out, and suddenly he’s been transported to a beach and he has legs

eventually he meets the gang, who thinks he’s just some sheltered kid who ran away, and has no idea how the real world works. (he was basically just a pickpocket/wanderer back in the sea though)

obviously one of the gang has a BackStory™️, because what’s a crack au without angst. the gang (do the kotlc kids have a name??? its rlly awkward just calling them the gang repeatedly) bond while trying to take down this person (dont worry, it happens relatively fast, unlike shannons convoluted idea of a plot) and keefe learns how to be human while trying to keep his secret. (he keeps up coming up with really shitty excuses that somehow work every time. Look. the gang is just Really Stupid its not their fault ok)

anyways eventually he has his mako mermaids moment and gets revealed as a mermaid (seriously??? HE COULD’VE JUST HOPPED BACK IN THE SEA AND AVOIDED THIS WHOLE THING???? ok MAYBE the friends were worth it but SERIOUSLY??????) and he gets made fun of for a little bit but everything works out in the end. keefe has the family he never had while wandering the ocean, and he can always shift back into a mermaid when he missed the sea

(specifically, he only turns into a mermaid when he touches sea water, otherwise there’d be a wholeeee lot of plot holes)

i’ve decided alden is the villain in this story, specifically to fitz and dex, and biana joined out of solidarity. they met the rest of the crew on the streets n shit. alden, at the end of the story, gets handed off to pirates. because i Said So. maybe he was a snobby guy who hated pirates and gay people. OH MY GOD AND THEN THE OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH PIRATES THAT ARE GAY ARE THE ONES THAT GET HIM AND HES BASICALLY IN HIS OWN HELL CANONICALLY UNTIL HE DIES.

idk i dont hate alden THAT much maybe he escapes and gets stranded on an island and becomes a hermit that lives in a cave and speaks to trees and rocks. maybe then he can be homophobic to THEM. and then in his imagination he gets handed off to gay tree and rock pirates. this is his PLAY THERAPY oKAY YOU CANT JUDGE HIM FOR COPING WITH THE TRAUMA OF GAY PEOPLE 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄/j
