so I’m sure most of you don’t follow the horse game industry but unfortunately I loosely do, so I just want you to know that I woke up this morning and had to read with my own eyeballs that SSE (the developers of Star Stable Online and people who have repeatedly said that they’re trying to make horse games into an accessible genre that’s taken seriously) are trying to claim that “horse girl” is a slur. not only did they do that in the first place, but when given every opportunity to reconsider this when called out heartily by actual marginalized people who have actual slurs used against them, decided to double down on it and tell said actual marginalized people that “movements can coexist.”

so I’m gonna have a great time seeing how that works out for them on the ‘being taken seriously’ front.

#they've also refused to add male or even gender neutral character models to the game #despite being asked for it many many times over the years #and despite their whole 'horse games are for everyone' schtick #and despite the fact that they're currently doing an entire massive rework of the player model #I've been watching these people shoot themselves in the collective foot for years now #they have the most bafflingly terrible takes on feminism I've ever seen #they're genuinely still living in the 90s 'girls rule boys drool' era #and the worst part is the bar is so low that their game is sincerely one of the best out there
