i love how the more i see of mulder and scully’s wardrobe, the more i realize i have seen so many clothing items just like theirs in my dad’s and grandparent’s closets
#my dad had the kitschy mulder ties#i remember vividly being fascinated by the patterns on his tie rack when i was a smol child#i don't think he ever wore most of those ties though#i guess he realized they were gaudy and stuck to his signature blue palette? i really don't know#those ties are all gone now anyway#and my grandma had the long scully-like coats#they weren't as stylish as scullys of course#but they were similar enough#and she had this pair of black leather gloves exactly like what scully wears. i think i have them now but i'd have to poke around#and now there's me. i got this long beige trench coat for christmas that falls to my ankles#and i wore it around in the winter and spring#and several times people were like 'you look exactly like a detective' which was the kind of vibe i was trying to pull of anyway#when i first got it i was comparing it to peggy carter's trench coat but now i think a comparison to scully's would be MUCH more accurate#belle speaks#the x files#dana scully#fox mulder#stories of my life#txf liveblog#belle liveblogs
