Am I the only one who gets really annoyed when ppl treat Sonic's alternate forms as separate characters
#ramblings#it mostly happens with the 'dark' forms like werehog or dark sonic#they're not separate from sonic! they're forms powered by his negative emotions! they're a part of him!#werehog isn't just a feral werewolf personality that takes over at night#and dark sonic isn't evil either#sidenote as to avoid any confusion i am NOT talking about system headcanons those are cool#i'm talking about them being treated as completely separate in fanworks that aren't exploring that headcanon specifically#like. its almost as if they don't want sonic himself to be. i guess associated with things that make him look 'evil'#even though those forms are not inherently evil and sonic himself doesn't mind being seen as a bad guy#it's a weird pet peeve of mine whenever i see stuff like that#ik i mentioned werehog but this is mostly about dark sonic. that's the one i've seen being treated like that the most#it's like completely misunderstanding the forms themselves#i was looking at fics and i saw something like this and it. annoyed me#it isn't really that big a deal it just annoys me personally
