One reason I think it's actually good to start a big project is watching - in real time! - the fact that you're gaining proficiency
So, this is part of my project:
I'm not sure if you can see it on camera (I hope you can, even if it's embarrassing), but at the bottom of the piece, there are many stitches jutting out. Do you see the inconsistency in them? But when you move your eyes up toward the end (the top), the stitches are so much more even and uniform? It's so weird to see the progress right before your eyes, but it's honestly what I think makes this project special to me. The very bottom of this part of the project represents being able to not only learn but to remember. I think that's what makes this life worth living.
