Reason #1000 that Elia fans are reading a different book:

Elia Martell ??? being the character of all time??? A character who is dead long before the main series appears???

Her husband Rhaegar and Lyanna have much a larger impact on the main series and still if anyone said they are the characters of all time, I'd find it insulting for all the complex pov characters that actually appear on the series.

And what's all this fanfiction about Elia winning the game of thrones? We barely know anything about her. The only part of her story that is important to the main series is her tragic end. Which serves as the motivation for a secondary non pov character ( Oberyn).

That's the importance of "the character of all time", lol.
