went to a new dance group, made a significant dent in the average attendee age, realised about half an hour too late that the guy tactfully asking me, 'so, which side would you prefer to dance?' was probably trying to figure out my gender, but I in all innocence just told him that I didn't really have a preference ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

#learnt a dance to the parson's farewell which *is* probably the most banging folk tune I can name #so that was a plus #but unfortunately I am extremely conditioned by scottish dancing to do everything in 2 4 or 8 bar phrases #and the caller just kind of shrugged when I asked how many bars the turns took #so I fear playford may not be for me #though i really do want to know what folkies who don't have the kilt fallback wear to their fancy dances
