Why the sudden interest in the Arctic?

It's newly accessible. "The vast sea ice that covers the Arctic Ocean is melting rapidly due to climate change," Politico reported, and could be completely ice-free during the summer as soon as 2035. That has created new shipping lanes as well as new possibilities for "natural resource extraction" — that is, drilling for oil and natural gas. That means a number of nations are racing for the chance to establish a presence in the region.

Who is competing?

Eight countries with territory in the region are on the Arctic Council: Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and the United States. In the era of "Great Power competition," though, Russia and China stand out. "Despite its military problems in Ukraine, Russia remains a formidable potential adversary in the Arctic," Abbie Tingstad and Yuliya Shokh wrote for The Hill. The country's Northern Fleet has made annual trips to the region for the last decade, practicing "large-scale amphibious assault landings, raids, and reconnaissance." And China — while it doesn't possess territory on the Arctic — is also showing interest, the Brookings Institution noted. "China seeks to become a 'polar great power'" and sees the Arctic as "ripe for rivalry and extraction."

a pretty distinct sound i think there is an audience out there waiting for this AND i think these songs will grow on anyone who hears them repeatedly my fav may be sunkissed Redheads is the only track that reminded me of anything ... intuition by jewell ... and i love that track! so that's cool

the arrangements, performance is pretty strong ... good production ideas everything sounds like it is recorded well i hear "i get the feeling" could go a different way. so ya got that gem in the rough can. it's a good song ... maybe a hit

Cinema After Corona: with music composer Edmund Hartman

Edmud (Ed) Hartman is an award-winning composer, who has scored music for film, TV, radio, and even a planetarium. He has recorded and performed with numerous bands, orchestras, dance and theater co’s including: Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel, Tickle Tune Typhoon, and Ellipsis. In the Northwest, he has become a top freelance percussionist and recording artist. As a soloist, Ed has performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in NYC. His own bands The Olympic Marimba Band (World) and Northwest Passage (Jazz) perform music from around the world.  Ed also performs as a solo one-man-band at concerts, fairs, festivals, schools, colleges and events of all kinds.

  He has also written articles, sheet music and books about music for Olympic Publications. His albums "The River", "Northwest Passage", "Wood and Metal Music", and "Marimbells of Christmas" have received national critical acclaim.

Backa Folkets Hus med mera på bilden tagen i slutet av 50-talet från berget i väster. Folkets Hus byggdes ursprungligen 1924 och byggdes om 1939. Biografen Rex fanns där under många år. Idag finns där mest samlingslokaler. Närmast till höger om Folkets Hus (något skymd av träd) ligger Konsum som sedermera ersattes av en radioaffär. Tingstad Småskola med skolgård och flaggstång syns längst till höger. När skolan rivits flyttades villan snett framför skolan in på skolans plats. Gränsen mellan det gamla Backa och Brunnsboområdet går i Kantorsvägen (nuvarande Epiloggatan) som på bilden går diagonalt ner till vänster hörn.
