#tl;dr: feeling kind of Eh about keanu shadow; i feel like they could've gone with someone else

my feelings on keanu shadow are the same as a lot of the people i'm following; i'm kind of bouncing between ambivalence and disappointment i agree with people who think he sounds much too old for shadow, they made a really basic choice, etc also i'm not sure if i like the implication that this was one big call back to the first movie's keanu line. i think there could've been better ways to have a full circle moment with that, like having him portray a side character or make a cameo

i'm hoping that this'll be an unexpectedly great performance like idris elba's was but for now i'm sharing a lot of people's apathy/skepticism. but i know we've been here before when it comes to the sonic movies so i'm not writing him/the movie itself off just yet
