I have so many thoughts about Branch right now.

One particular thought of mine is this scenario, where Gray! Branch meets his future self, who is happy and colorful. I keep asking myself, "How will he react?" "What will happen?" and "How can I turn this both sad and funny?" (LMAO)

This is one of my favorite daydreams to imagine because I can't really write it out. I'm not a writer (I suck at expressing myself through words). I might draw a comic. Maybe? Idk. But anyway, I keep thinking about the fact that Branch was clearly born to be in the spotlight. Bro can adapt to new music fast, is great at singing (his voice is literally being compared to an angel), and the fact he's in two bands is just 🤯.

So whenever I imagine my daydream, I always have this specific dialogue in mind that just makes me go feral.

"How can you be so happy?! After everything we've been through! How can you smile and laugh like we aren't the reason why grandma isn't here?"

"Because grandma would want us to be happy. Grandma would want us to move on and forgive ourselves!.....I never realized that until someone showed me that I can be happy, I just needed help finding it."

Had a Cliva scene from my Month Long stuck in my head, so I had to get it drawn out. Both with and without my atrocious attempts at shading.

Her hair always drooped a bit when she was starting to dwell on negative feelings, and Clay started to feel a little sick to his stomach. He should have left her alone. Checking on her had only made things worse. He jolted when she reached out to him then, her hand finding the sweatband on his wrist. He’d been turning it again without realizing. She tugged at it, picking at the loose fibers. He watched her fingers with too much interest, feeling a bit too guilty to look her in the eye.

“I think it might be good if I take our people home tomorrow,” Viva admitted.

That felt equal parts good and bad to him. The ‘our people’ part felt right. Warm. Homey. It centered him in his reality.

I’m not sure where this head-canon originated, but I heard about the idea of the song Branch was singing when Grandma was killed was him singing to his brothers, so they’d come back,,,, and that just kills me. Especially when you listen to the lyrics:

And we'll only be making it right

I know the whole Brozone thing 99% probs wasn’t planned during the first movie but like???? Those lyrics fit so well to a kid desperately singing for his brothers to come back and make amends? Can someone please hug Baby Branch???? That’s literally so sad.

I'm a really big fan of the headcanons about Branch practicing because he thinks his brothers will come back. It's just one of those general headcanons that started popping into a lot of people's heads since it was such a natural conclusion to come to. We saw Branch immediately assume that the show's failure was his fault and the only person who tried to assure him that it wasn't was Floyd but even Floyd left in the end. It would only make sense for this small trolling who thought that he was responsible for his brothers leaving-- because he wasn't a good enough dancer, a good enough singer-- to desperately try to prove that he could be better if it meant that they'd come back. For that to have led to his Grandmother's death? That's just another layer of trauma and heartbreak to add to Branch's already terrorized character.

Honestly I think my absolute favourite thing about the love confession between Kit and Jade is how unapologetically heartfelt it is. It’s awkward and ardent; they’re nervous and they’re brave and they’re youngsters in love for the first time and you fully believe that. You’re fully immersed. It’s cheesy and honest and real in such a sweet way, in the best way, and it’s so so well done, in the acting and the writing and everything
