all SOLDIERs have a DMW chip installed, as it is what they use to gauge emotional stability in the program, detect mako levels and signs of degradation, as well as being a sure fire way to know whether they're truly dead or not even at a distance. it does not track your location or can it read your memories, but both accusations are used as a scare tactic to freak out new recruits.
