i know a lot of folks weren’t thrilled about OFMD’s treatment of Calico Jack and expressed sentiments along the lines of “why couldn’t they have used [any other historical pirate] to fill that role instead??” but, I have to say, his portrayal as an irredeemable piece of shit is a lot more appealing to me when I assume that it’s leading up to season 2 introducing Anne Bonny and Mary/Mark Read as the badass co-captains who mutinied against him and threw the bastard overboard chained to an anchor.
#like. there’s no WAY this isn’t why they did that#is it historically accurate? no. but it’s not like anything else in the show is so who cares!#so crossing my fingers for this!#my expectation is that they’ll just be in one or two eps in s2 and then play a more substantial role in s3#but that’s ENTIRELY speculative - i have no clue#we shall SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 👁👁 !!#our flag means death#ofmd
