star wars, of course!
i’m going to answer this focusing mostly on the movies because i feel like TCW/Rebels could probably be their own separate questions
my all-time ultimate fave character: Anakin, Darth Vader, my terrible dumb son, the Chosen One, the objectively best Star Wars character
a character I didn’t used to like, but now do: I think I was kind of cool on Han during my first watch through but I like him a lot!
a character I used to like, but now don’t: I mostly just thought he was pretty interesting at first, but after watching the prequels and learning more about the pre-fall Jedi Order I ended up with a REAL GRUDGE against Yoda
a character I’m indifferent about: intellectually I get why so many fans are so into Boba Fett but … can’t relate
a character who deserved better: Padme but with the caveat that tbh a solid 60% of people going “Padme deserved better” mean “I wanted Padme to do stuff that would be ~badass~ or ~empowering~ but actually be OOC and make her actively less interesting” and i am Not Here for that. (this is such a passive-aggressive answer, i’m sorry)
also like everyone in the sequel trilogy but I still can’t think about TLJ without wanting to yell so I’ve settled pretty deeply into “what sequel trilogy? there are only six REAL star wars movies” as my fandom strategy, because I prefer having fun to being angry about things
a ship I’ve never been able to get into: I remember when I first watched SW I went looking for fanfic and I was BAFFLED at the popularity of Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan. it’s less omnipresent now but it still squicks me out!
i also … hmm, this is an unpopular opinion Perhaps, but I think a lot of people’s love for Han/Leia is fueled by nostalgia and/or uncritical acceptance of the original trilogy being Culturally Iconic, because hoooo boy is the way they’re written in ESB… not something that would fly as a romance in a movie today. I like their ROTJ dynamic but I do have to actively paste my “the writers meant for this to be Cute True Love and if I don’t view it that way it breaks the story” goggles firmly onto my eyes when I watch ESB
(Hot Take: the Han/Leia romance in ESB is about as badly written as the Anakin/Padme romance in AOTC, but gets away with it due to Harrison Ford & Carrie Fisher’s real life chemistry and being surrounded by a much better movie. fight me!)
a ship I’ve never been able to get over: I guess Obi-Wan/Anakin/Padme. also “Anakin’s relationship with basically anyone.”
a cute, low-key ship: I generally imagine Luke as aro-ace but when I do get on the “luke skywalker is gay” train I’m very fond of Luke/Lando
an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: can’t think of one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ most of my SW ships are pretty popular!
a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: idk I got nothing, this meme was maybe written for fandoms with more romance than most of mine
my favorite storyline/moment: the Luke & Vader scenes in ROTJ are the absolute Peak of all my star wars emotions
a storyline that never should have been written: it was called The Last Jedi (sorry)
my first thoughts on the show: I’ve told the “Queen Amidala cardboard cutout” story before but besides that, my actual first thoughts were somewhere along the lines of “well, turns out this ICONIC FILM SERIES that everyone’s shocked I’ve never seen is, in fact, REALLY GOOD, there’s a shocker.” i also distinctly remember being like “someone should really have warned me i would have this many emotions about darth vader. i don’t know how you would have known. but i feel like i DESERVED A WARNING”
my thoughts now: I do love me a Star War but I am somewhat detached from the fandom at the moment bc of aforementioned issues with the ST and the direction of disney canon. call me when they put Barriss Offee in something again and I’ll be on that
