this just in, on reading boruto so you don't have to. (vol. 2 edition) it's whatever. summary below the cut! it got long but i had fun w it <3

our story so far! its just them doing the chunin exams. sasuke is mentoring boruto, and boruto is using... how to explain this. he's been sponsored by new ninja tools Inc. which allows him to basicallyyyy copy paste jutsu (not unlike the alien fuckers) which allows him a totally unearned power boost

boruto gets back from the exams and Naruto has possibly one of the most awkward father-son conversations ever. boruto goes up to his room and hears a knock on the door. he says fuck off mom I'm playing minecraft!! but it's naruto! actually im gonna transcribe it cause it's so funny

boruto:... dad!

Naruto: ... yo! um... ....i, er.... ... heard you passed... round two.

boruto:... yeah...

Naruto:...

boruto: what?

Naruto:....

boruto: if that's it, couldja go?

Naruto: you... did well. see you later, then.

boruto: you came up... just to say that?

Naruto: well... it's........ important, you know.... real important... .... yeah. it's very important.

then Naruto's all like "don't lose to shikadai" and boruto goes "this could have been an email" (LMAO LITTLE SNARK. he's so awful 💛) (boruto is really happy about it though)

so he uses his little ninja tool thang to win the fight against shikamaru's kid, but naruto SEES him... and he goes HEY this gives you a totally unearned power boost you little fuck! you don't even deserve to call yourself a ninja! I'll lecture you about this later... and boruto goes well maybe you should have lectured me BEFORE. you would have known I was using secret ninja tools if you were in my life, DAD.

and oh no, we don't have time to deal with that because the aliens show up!! ahhh! they want narutos beast chakra for blah blah blah who cares. so they kidnap him. and sasukes like hey boruto let's go get your dad. 5kages like ok we're coming too so sasuke and the 5kage AND THIS RANDOM ASS GENIN... go get him in dimension 20 or wherever the fuck they go. OH YEAH. naruto yells at one of the aliens for relying on "doping" for power when they take some ninja pills or whatever. (COMPLETELY ignoring choji's whole thang of food pills. whatever. I <3 retconning) yeah I get its s'posed'a parallel what boruto is doing with the tools, but it sucks.

uh then alien guy eats his friend and goes curse mark lvl 1. end volume. I hate those lame ass idiot aliens. they don't even have sharingan 3rd eye like kaguya.

and now this is just nitpicky, but rocklee has awful tank top sleeves in one panel, and regular ones in the next
