sanada/yanagi doubles pair always makes me laugh cause it’s two of the top three rikkai emperors pairing up against you in doubles, both of whom can spank kirihara individually without letting him score a single point. like even if your doubles pair could multiply (rather than add together) your strengths, you’re still facing two lv.1000 players lol. and it’s not even like they’re random singles players that don’t know how to play combinations either bc they’re regularly paired in lineups. but also rikkai has a whole number of great doubles players and options that are maybe not as sure of a win in singles but the fact that they just can casually throw 2/3 of their strongest players into doubles just shows their depth i guess  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The wedding wouldn't even be that bad IF

- Ben got a fair amount of importance. He hasn't had A SINGLE preparation scene making it ONLY Mal's thing. Like girl's a total nobody, he's the darn king

- the outfits. The budget was as always enough for Mal but everyone else had been scrapped together?

- all those characters missing. Doubt Ben wouldn't invite half the school and everyone of importance to his wedding

- still no duet. We're still set to believe that they're a couple when they don't even have a song together? Not to forget this song mostly featured everyone with Mal, sidelining Ben ONCE AGAIN... And that remix with Did I Mention? I wanna throw up.

- the worst part is how they treated Carlos/Cameron. It's disrespectful. Even Riverdale, which is a shit show of its own, found a respectful way to write in a character's passing which wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Not so much for Descendants tho. Like why? I felt so bad for Audrey as well, for making sure everyone goes as planned for the girl who destroyed her entire future and still made it her fault... Not excited about the two coming movies at all... This dumpster fire just made sure of that all

The wedding prep shorts literally only featuring Mal and Evie planning was such a stupid move. Ben has ZERO involvement in his own wedding planning and its all Mal themed basically. Fucking surprising they even let blue be in the wedding, cause clearly its all about Mal as per usual. The outfits we got that were new weren't even that great, lmao. Mal's wedding dress literally was so bad google images has better wedding dresses that would suit her or in my mind if we going with a Mal that isn't into lady of the court stuff and just wants to chill around in jeans and shit, wedding suits even. And I had to sit through BOTH royal weddings in UK and can confirm: Ben should have been wearing fucking medals and should not look fucking plain as shit. And Evie's??? That things changes across media I swear, but it still looks plain as fuck for Evie even, and just stupid.

All those characters being missing becomes more jarring with finale bit of the special, like....they have Evie dance with Dude instead of animating Doug in for her??? Uma shows up alone without her boys?? And Celia is just, not present in final song with Dizzy? And I forgot this on last post but can you blame me: the smee twins are also missing....like, why- and Lonnie is still fucking missing since D3. I get war style flashbacks with Did I Mention? and given I have to write that song in my fics, the torture never fucking ends with that song. But the fact that its so romatized in D3 when proposing to Mal when.....he literally sung it in the first place while under a love spell, like, what..... The lack of duet is both mercy and a bad call: its a mercy for me cause Ben and Mal don't have to sing with each other after the shit Mal pulled in D2 with him, but its a bad call when you realize this is DISNEY. They are known for their good couple songs and yet, Ben and Mal don't get one at all??? How do you fuck up that badly really???

Simple for why Disney decided to disrespect Cameron with that honoring: money. Cause they gotta milk this franchise and drag it out, but cause they know the Carlos thing will pop up a-lot, they decide to imply hes dead to move on, and ignore the grieving this will force the actors through AGAIN. Its completely disrespectful in so many ways and really is evidence for why this special shouldn't have happened. And then just to add salt to the wound for Audrey, they proceed to just, ignore all that planning and hard work in favor off....a fucking Isle-woods wedding. Just, just wow.
