(I'm so sorry I know asks are closed so you can ignore this I'm just having a bad night and missing my late girlfriend.) Could I have scenerios where claude, Sebastian, alois, and ciel comfort their S/O who still loves and misses their old S/O who passed away years ago? (You can ignore this if you want, thank you for your time and your blog, it helps me to keep going.)

Okay um. First I wanted to say that if anyone is upset or needs help or anything like that, please talk to me! I’m not necessarily the best at helping, but I do have a lot of experience with it, and I really don’t want any of you to be upset! So really, if you need help, I’m here.

Anyway, I really hope you like this!! I don’t know how comforting it is, but hopefully it is a little.

Ciel:

Ciel wasn’t an open person. As far as he was concerned, no one, not even the ones closest to him, had any business knowing how dark his life was. Besides that, there was no need to burden them with it, it was his problem, not theirs.

And he almost expected everyone else to be the same way. It wasn’t that he didn’t care. He would go to the ends of the earth, just for the slight chance of helping those closest to him. But to him, feelings were a deey private thing.

And so, when he noticed his s/o was feeling upset, he knew why, he knew most things about them, he didn’t say anything. He figured that they didn’t want him to notice, and that they were glad he hadn’t said anything.

He was wrong.

The two of them were sitting together, reading. It was mid-morning, and except for the tenseness Ciel sensed from his s/o it was very peaceful.

Until they started crying.

They were sobbing next to him, with Ciel sitting there awkwardly. There was no way he could pretend this wasn’t happening, but he didn’t want to put them on the spot. He was thinking about leaving, when they started talking, in a panicked voice.

“Ciel, help! Please! Please stop ignoring me, please.”

He stared for a few second, and then awkwardly patted them on the back.

“What’s wrong?”

“I had a s/o, before I met you. They were loving and sweet and perfect, but now they’re gone. And I can’t stop missing them. And you don’t care.”

“I do care! I didn’t think you wanted to talk about it. I’m sorry. I know it hurts that they’re gone, and I can’t fix that. But I promise I’ll try my best to help. Promise.”

Sebastian:

Sebastian had seen many things over the course of his very, very long life.

War, death, terrible sickness, the destruction of thousands and thousands of other demons that might have well been his and sisters. The horrors were uncountable, and he knew he would live to see much worse.

But nothing had, or ever would, effect him as much as the grief his s/o went through. Sebastian figured that if they had cared half as much about their late-s/o as he did for them, it must be horrible to go through.

It was important to him that he did everything he could for his s/o, despite their protests. Anything they could possible want, he got it for them. But he couldn’t heal their emotional wounds.

It was the afternoon, Ciel was working, and the servants were.. Well they were trying. And Sebastian was going about his work, fixing the other servant’s mistakes, and making sure everything was perfect. Until Mey-Rin came up to him, looking frantic. He thought she had broken something, until she started talking.

“I was just dusting ‘n I walked into the library 'n your s/o was there, and I thought they were just readin’ but then they started crying! I didn’t wamnt to bother them, but I figured you’d want to help!”

��Yes, thank you Mey-Rin.”

Sebastian walked quickly past her, towards the library. He was fairly certain that he knew why his s/o was crying, but it wasn’t terribly reassuring.

Once he got to the library, he gently knocked on the door, and then quietly opened it, and walked in.

“What’s the matter my dear? Why didn’t you come find me?”

He gently rubbed their shoulder, while waiting for them to respond.

“Sometimes it just hurts so much. I want them back.”

A worried expression crossed Sebastian’s face, before he kneeled down in front of his s/o

“I cannot bring them back, no matter how much I want to. You can’t know how much I do want to. But I will do anything to help you through this, I promise.”

Alois:

Alois hated seeing people upset. There were exceptions, for people he hated, but those were few and far between. Generally, seeing someone, anyone, upset crushed him. But especially his s/o. When they were hurt, he felt like the entire world was crashing down around him. They meant everything to him.

He had known that his s/o’s previous relationship had ended with the death of their partner, and he expected that they were still hurting, but it was still heartbreaking to see them grieving.

It was late at night, and Alois had left the bed to get something to drink. Usually, he would’ve just called Claude, and had his butler get it for him, but Claude had gone to do… Something for the queen, Alois hadn’t been paying much attention. But as he was walking back to his room, he heard quiet crying coming from the room.

He quietly opened the door, tip toeing into the room. His s/o was sitting up in the bed, crying and clearly trying to smother their sobs.

“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Alois said, climbing onto the bed, and reaching out to hug his s/o. “I thought you were asleep, what’re you doing up?”

“I just-” they tried to wipe tears from their eyes “I just miss them so much. I miss talking to them, I miss doi things with them, I just miss them. Everyday.”

Alois leaned against them, and wrapped his arms around them.

“I know. If I could bring them back I would.”

They sat in near silence, with Alois hugging them as tight as he could. After a while, Alois spoke.

“I promise I won’t leave. They might be gone, but you still have me. I’m probably not that great a replacement, but at least its something, right? And maybe, maybe that’ll make it better?”

“Maybe. Thank you Alois. I love you”

“I love you too”

Claude:

Claude was bad with emotions.

He didn’t understand them, and handling them was almost impossible. But he figured it wasn’t that big a deal, (it was), that Sebastian was probably worse at dealing with them then him, (Sebastian was a hundred times better at it), and he got on fine without that particular ability (he once said to a grieving old woman that 'she should stop being such a baby about this, it was just her husband that died’)

He hardly ever delt with emotions, until he met his s/o. It was a rush of confusing feelings, and a intense feeling of needing to keep them safe. He needed to protect them, from anything that could ever hurt them. It didn’t go terribly well, and the beginning of the relationship was rocky, but it gradually evened out.

He did know about his s/o’s previous relationship, but he figured that they were probably fine. It had been awhile, and it probably wasn’t affecting them anymore.

He was wrong.

When he found them crying, there was a rush of panic that went through him. What was wrong? Were they hurt? No, there was nothing physically wrong with them. Did someone say something to hurt them? All they would have had to do is tell him, and whoever hurt them would be dead within the hour.

He just stood there, running through possibilities in his head. It didn’t even occur to him to ask his s/o what was wromng, and only acknowledged them when they started talking.

“Claude, Claude, can you hear me? Please say something, I need help.”

He bent down, and picked them up to hug them.

“What’s wrong? Did someone hurt you?”

They leaned away from him, looking at him in disbelief.

“Claude, I thought you knew? About my previous relationship?”

“Oh. I didn’t think you were still upset about that. My apologises”

“Claude-”

“Regardless,” he said, cutting them off “they’re probably in heaven, so you have that to look forward to.”

“Claude-”

“And besides that, you have me now. And I suspect I’ll be around longer then they were.”

“Claude please, this isn’t helping. Its making it worse.”

He looked them directly in the eyes, and really noticed how upset they were.

“What do you want me to say then?”

“I don’t. I don’t know. Its just that I want them back, but they’ll never come back, and I don’t know how to handle it.”

Claude stood, thinking for a few moments. He hugged them again, tighter, and hoped that was enough.

Escape room Project- Music Box

Initial Team: Gabby, Raphael, and myself (Toby)

Aim

To create a musical keyboard, where you had to recreate a tune to then unlock a box.

My Jobs

To create a keyboard, implement code that activates when a particular musical sequence is presssed, and collaborate with Raphael on the Servo lock mechanism.

Abstract

With our project head going to part time we had to downscale the project slightly, using only a few keys/ notes for the musical combination (four notes in total).

We used a servo motor to rotate revealing the code to the padlock, the idea was to find a message from another puzzle “C-E-F-D”, above the keyboard are the musical notes scratched into the box, and they would have to realise that the code was a musical note to be played.

I think the project came together although couldn’t be implemented into the main puzzleroom because of time constraints

Journey

I used both Arduino’s own compiler and mBlock a visual node based coder. I first created the musical keyboard using mBlock, using a forever node, similiar to a Voidloop in Arduino compiler. The notes could be programmed to the exact notes and duration (to the proper musical notes found in traditional music). I can see thaty this software would be better for less technical artists.

I then copied the code produced into arduino to create a system to input a code.

I used an array to count up to for, with the wromng passwords resetting the count. I uses a not statement (!=), which determins if the input was played outside it’s designated order. Digital read 2 bellow is the C key which is first, the !=0 means if it is not pressed first (the array starts at 0), and I use a boolean, passwrong, to reset the array.

2,3,4,5 digital out were used for the keyboards (the fifth note was cut due to while the 10th was used for the speaker.

Box

We wanted to play around with the cold war, low tech asthetic and create something rough and harsh. I found a box on google and asked the group what they thought.

People like the idea of getting a box and roughing it up. Gabriela still in the chat helped us out and looked a the shops for a box and the group decided on this box

Me and Ralph drew on the box, planning openings with pencil. We needed

A hole to plug the circuit into the wall

A hole for the servor to reveal the code

A bigger hole to place the buttons

We looked at a way of implementing the buttons on the outside of the case, and decided to plant the buttons on a thin bread board. We really wanted to create a rough and worn box, and so used electric drills to create holes in the box, deforming the box in a vice, sanding the sides and scrapping the words to be less legible. I even threw it on the floor, stamped it and stood on it to further its aesthetic. We were all very pleased with the look.

Challenges

As an artist based group we faced many issues with the code. The keyboard was easy to do myself but I found the secret password hard, and had to ask Raphael for help, and gain advice from others in the group. We also had trouble with the servo, but with last minuite adjustments was corrected. The last issue we had was the tempermental nature of teh circuit, that to start with could beep constantly when a wire was nudged slightly. This issue seemed to dissapear when putting the wires in the box.

Alternative Hint

One possible hint for the code was that we’d hook another speaker to an arduino and make it play the combination somewhere else in the room (The keyboard wouldn’t work using the same board). I created the code for the tune using the keyboard’s code and the victory tune played after completing the task.
