#the democracy and 'FREEDOM!!!' of a government towards it's own people within it's nation doesn't mean jack shit#when they are actively oppressing another people and stripping them of freedom and keeping them in an apartheid state#like. cool. citizens there can vote. that's awesome#can their neighbors in gaza leave a strip the size of london. can they control their own food. or water. or electricity.#a nation having a state of democracy and freedom of choice within it's own borders is irrelevant#when they're depriving innocent people outside those borders of their fucking humanity. let alone anything akin to freedom and 'democracy'#mine#free palestine#but of course. in a country that itself flaunts being the democratic 'land of the free' despite building that 'democracy' on stolen land#that was taken from the people they also colonized and carried out a genocide on. that rhetoric shouldn't surprise me here. and yet.
