#why cant i connect to most minecraft servers

ok so here are my thoughts about this years minecraft live.

overall it was .... okay. i felt like there was a lot more padding than usual, like we only got small bits of information with large amounts of exposition in between. that could be from the whole "learning from last year in promising too much and delivering too little", so who knows.

minecraft legends looks fun. i like that the world is randomly generated each time so everyone will get a unique experience. the mechanics look interesting and seem to fit together nicely. the design of the mobs and plants and environments are really nice. im interested to see just how much of the game there is, the replayability, the longevity of the game, but overall looks like a solid game. ill probably buy it when it releases

the update reveal.... well, they gave us virtually nothing so i cant really comment on it. as previously stated idk why theyre only just learning how to properly do gameplay reveals, but im glad they took the criticism from the fiasco that was 1.19 and are actually listening. maybe listening a bit too much? we literally have no clue what this updates theme is. like last year they revealed to much so now theyre going the polar opposite direction and revealing nothing. ppl in my discord server were saying maybe a building update considering the new blocks and new default skins which ties into the whole "self expression" shit, so we'll see.

a quick aside, i gotta mention how absolutely vague the update description agnes gave was. "this year we want self expression and representation. we want identity and to unite all players together. and this year we did just that, with this update, that will connect players and identity, and representation". she spoke around what the actual theme was then said they want to make minecraft "minecraftier". what the fuck does that mean. anyway.

hanging signs are cool, they were frequently requested so im glad theyre finally being implemented, and in varying shapes and positions. no complaints there.

the chiseled bookshelf is... cool... but its functionality literally couldve been implemented into the normal bookshelf. plus, the chiseled ones just look better imo. so kinda confused there but oh well.

the new bamboo wood is alright, it looks a little ugly to me. i like the mosaic variety. the bamboo raft confuses me as it functions exactly like a normal boat, so im not sure the need to differentiate.

the camels are the BEST part of this livestream. they seem super dope and well designed with interesting and fun mechanics. anything that adds to the barren deserts is a godsend. 2 player rideable mob with a dash move? sign me up. my only concern is... theyre so intricate it makes classic mobs look so boring. the camels have a specific getting up and laying down animation complete with ear twitch animations and dashes while the cow just. stands there. so not super great in that department

and finally, the mob vote. SNIFFER SWEEP. i dont have much to say about this bc obviously the sniffer would win. it was the most interesting out of all of them. i had no doubts but the confirmation is exciting.

its 2am as i write this and im tired so thats all im gonna say for now. i probably forgot stuff and ill probably remember stuff later so ill probably more than likely make more rants tomorrow

mini ramble and thoughts about The End in the Dream SMP

been thinking about how The End seems inevitable in the dream smp, and how significant it feels, also as the finisher to Dream's arc. i think that some parts of the story are allusions to the The End realm will be... well the end to Dream's arc. there's been lots of hints, from both dream and dreamXD. The one that comes to mind is the fact that the end is inevitable. Dream said directly post-doomsday that his story with tommy isn’t over

The End is the end of the Minecraft journey, the peak of the mountain you reach after climbing and grinding for so long. The End is just the ending just of just one part of the story. So I don't think it will mark the end of the server in 1.16 as a whole but the end to Dream and Tommy's story.

It feels heavily implied that DreamXD came from or at least has access to the End realm. DreamXD protects the End portal from use, yet brings out a dragon head of all things to take a picture with George.

Dream's prison cell is completely made from obsidian, the one block accessible pre-End that the enderdragon cant destroy (though that one feels like a weaker link given its just the prison design itself)

Dream has always said he has a house and he said once on puffy's stream (foolish was in vc too) that the home was bigger than even the mansion at Snowchester.

This is is a stretch but I always get the feeling that dream’s house is another Chekov's gun (like the button to blow up L’Manburg) We never see it or get any hints, so it feels like a hideaway or a safe house dream plans to escape to. Same with the The End, it’s another gun with how guarded and insistently restricted it is. It's also interesting that the main three rules at the beginning of the server have just been completely broken by dream himself

(no stealing -> stole the discs first no griefing -> ...cmon i think probably he said bitch once too)

Breaking those rules led almost to his downfall

(stealing the discs only to lose doomsday is why he went to prison for the most part)

so it feels like its inevitable The End is coming soon and it will be how Dream meets his fate 

I always thought Dream has been to the end already, DreamXD had to punish dream or just used him to get to the overworld. And of course, with XD seemingly being the godlike character who doesn’t have a hint of humanity, trouble ensues when XD is in control im still holding onto the idea Dream and XD used to share bodies, XD only needed dream as a vessel to get to the overworld and connect with mortals. When Dream got desperate, he sought XD and allowed him to use his body to solve all the problems with l'manburg After all of that, he's forgotten his humanity and succumb to being just a shell; a mortal who thinks he is a god, or rather, has a god within him. Dream himself is still there he just can't distinguish himself and XD anymore.

Dreamons are the corrupt, evil parts of ones self and dream is a transmuted dreamon, able to switch between the two. Or used to at least. So it not far off to think that the blending between the halves was gradual. The separation is still there but its just hard to distinguish, harder that dream is just letting it happen.

ill elaborate on why i like this idea of just letting XD use his body as a vessel to cause such chaos, just from a more philosophical standpoint of blame, next time and i want to analyse the MC end poem with its relation to the DSMP, basically how the things in the dream smp are alluding to it and further proving my end theory too for now thats all I got to ramble abt

karl- idk alot about karl either, but im pretty sure he loses, like, every mr beast challenge i think thats like his thing, so even if idk wtf those challenges are, imma say that sets him up for failure in my eyes irl 3/10

quackity- the dude got tired from wii sports. i dont know if he has any irl abilities, so imma have to do him dirty with this one 3/10

fundy- hes a coder, a really good one at that, so while that may help him in the logistics and planning department, i cant say the same for physical ability 3/10

antfrost- idk what hes done irl while being a server admin for years, but hes read warriors, which although may mean he didnt get out much as a kid, it also kinda tells you about herbs and plants?? idk if its accurate but its something 3/10

tubbo- same logic, hes a kid, i think kids are automatically gonna function worse than adults, however, apparently he used to be a trampolinist??? that at least means that he has good stamina and at least a bit of strength, so i think if he didnt let his emotions cloud him he could kick at least a little bit of ass 4/10

eret- he seems to be willing to do almost anything to get things to turn out his way in the smp, but irl he seems very charitable, so idk how that would translate in an apocalypse scenario. hes gonna be about midrange because i cant say what theyd do 4/10

technoblade- im sorry techno but he only plays minecraft and reads literature, i think he might have enough disconnect in order to sacrifice other people’s needs for his own, and i wouldnt put it past him to take what he needs from others, but i cant give him much more than that 4/10

skeppy- you may think ive put him too far up, and yes, this dude somehow managed to run a 20-minute mile. yes, he only has 3 shirts but still has two cars, yes, i dont think hed be able to sacrifice someone else in a pinch. however what everyone is forgetting is that he has connections to the weirdest assortment of people i know, and could probably convince them to help him out. alone? f tier, dead in 3 days. with his car gassed up and knowing where his friends are at? he could last a while i think 4/10

sapnap- he apparently said his worst fear is being alone and losing his friends. which? i mean, i think both of those things would happen in this scenario. he does have jock energy though so hes lower-middle range 4/10

george- geroge is gonna be the complete center on which everyone else is judged. i dont know anything about this man irl. for all i know he could be a gold-medallist weight lifter. he seems to be fairly quick-thinking and independent, so i could see him doing fine maybe 5?/10

wilbur- a wildcard like george except what i do know about him seems way more powerful and also unhinged. everything i learn about him irl scares me i think he could live on being a sneaky little theif bastard 6/10

captain puffy- uhh idk its just her vibe. i think she could do well 6/10

punz- he looks like he could and would kick my ass 7/10

awesamdude- dudes really smart, and 6′7?? he has the reach to knock zombies or whatever TF out   6′7/10

schlatt- he lives in new york, owns at least one glock, and im sure is willing to betray anyone in order to get to the top, i think hed do pretty good 8/10

badboyhalo- okay listen this may be partially favoritism but this is by no means a professional list. he can shoot guns and throw knives and axes, knows how to cook and has beaten up someone at least once. im gonna say his only weaknesses are being a bit forgetful and overly sympathetic, but whatever i think he can get past that 9/10

dream- man, i really didnt wanna give mans the dub here, but i think i have to. 1. its known that all florida men are a different breed, and dream is Peak florida man. hes one of the only ones i could find that ever played an actual sport, and his quick-thinking skills displayed in manhunt is pretty much unmatched. he also shows a hint of cold logic in his actions, doing whatever it takes to gain popularity on youtube in the beginning, and i think that could translate to real life as well. overall, i cant say i was expecting this result, but i think its what i have to do 10/10
