Fanart for one of Animaniac's best songs! The Monkey Song was one of the earliest in the series, but it already had so much of the show's energy and the characters were all shown off perfectly.

A few days late for the 30th anniversary but that's okay! I'm still pretty happy with how they came out.

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE SHOW EVERRRRR

Ugh GOD does this show have a special place in my heart. I've known about them since I was a toddler thanks to my mom, she grew up with original show and loved it SO much that she handed me a singalong tape to watch and told me all about the show and how much she loved it, how Wakko was her favorite.

I used to watch that tape constantly until I eventually forgot about it. It was kind of a distant memory for 10ish years, I thought it was a fever dream or whatever. Then I learned about the reboot and remembered how my mom was a HUGE fan of it.

A week after the reboot came out, my mom and I finally sat down on the couch together and binged the whole first season in one sitting.

I originally watched it just to connect with my mom and remind her of her childhood, but here I am, 3 years later and absolutely OBSESSED with them.

Animaniacs has followed me into adulthood, and I couldn't be happier. It makes me feel free and happy and reminds me of my mom. I will forever thank her for telling me about the show, for expressing her love for it and for handing me that tape.

I have met SO many AMAZING people and have made SO many good memories. Even if I ever do happen to fall out of it (I better not,,,I've spent almost 1k on them teehee) it will FOREVER be a part of my life one way or another. And even though it's come to an end once again, I am thankful for everything it's given me ❤️

"How do you rescue Yakko, Wakko, and Dot if they were kidnapped by Wizard Waldo?". Try to imagine if the Warner siblings were captured by my evil OC. Even if it's only just one of the Warner siblings instead of all three of them. If Waldo were to hypothetically lock them in his dungeon or put them in cages to prepare his cauldron, how would you help the Warners escape without Waldo noticing?

One of my favorite things about the Warners is how, despite how clearly intelligent they are, they're still children and think like children. Like Yakko is such a smarty pants know-it-all, and yet he still gets caught up in simple childish misconceptions that he's 100% confident in. For example, the time he tried leading his sibs to Pennsylvania because he decided their parents must be pencils, but actually led them to Transylvania. Never a single doubt that he had done something incorrectly despite all the evidence in front of him. Also when they show up to military bootcamp fully believing it's summer camp, or keep insistently trying to order food from a place that is clearly not a restaurant. Yakko's sibs trust and respect him so much that they accept whatever explanation he gives them without a thought to the contrary, no matter how obviously silly it is.

It's one of my favorite things they do. Just being so confident and single-minded in seeing the world as zany children, even with all their worldly knowledge.
