#yeah Zoomies are fun and good for removing Fury with Waffles' mod

And then I noticed how glowy Alice was getting and was like “Okay, Alice, YOU go out for Zoomies and get your Fury back down again instead -- try to be back in time for midnight, okay?” :p Look, she’d already used up her Somber Howl, and she didn’t have a meditation stool with her -- and who knows how good that would have been in the club? Much safer to send her running all over the town to work that Fury off.

Anyway, with her off, I directed most everybody to come down and start dancing again -- Smiler grooved with their robot buddy, while Victor actually managed to be a bit social and chat with Davion, Leslie, and Cletus! He even initiated a nice New Year’s toast for everyone to enjoy, right as Alice came back. He then wandered upstairs with them to watch some more TV while I had Smiler show off some of their sweet moves to Alice, including a pretty damn epic backflip --

And then I looked at the time and went “OH SHIT THE COUNTDOWN!” D: Yeah, I’d gotten so caught up in Smiler’s partying and showing off their moves, I hadn’t realized it was almost midnight! I canceled Smiler showing off the Pump-Pop and Alice watching them show it off and sent them upstairs to join Victor --

But it was already too late. Midnight had been reached, and the confetti on the TV had gone off. Alice, by some glitchy miracle, managed to fulfill the “Watch Countdown” tradition by getting to the top of the steps before it was fully over, but Smiler, bringing up the rear, did not. :( Which was sad, as that was explicitly a tradition they loved. Darn it. . .next year, guys, I promise! Fortunately, Victor was willing to give them a big old “Happy New Year” hug anyway. . .

Which made me think “you know what -- Smiler and Alice may have missed the official countdown, but that’s no reason why we can’t do some proper celebrations downstairs!” So I directed them (and Party Time) over to the corner by the bar, where Smiler got a hug from Alice as well, awww. Gotta keep things tight between the metamours!
