"I would be inclined to call it a stereotype, as they are judging me based on my appearance. They expect me to act like the RK800s due to us looking identical. I suspect this will become a more recognized issue in the future, as many android share the same face, but have wildly different personalities." He had a feeling that he wasn't the only one experiencing the same issue, as he'd seen a few humans be surprised by brazen Dan could be after experiencing the more timid Simon.
"Although they may eventually realize those of the same model and face are different, just like a human." Even if there would always be humans who stuck by the belief of models sharing the same personality, that was just something androids should expect as humans still did it to each other.
John nodded slightly, there were probably many small differences between him and the human Strohmeier, the main one being he was an android who'd never gotten to see a real battle. "Sounds like one shouldn't expect all versions of themselves to be the same in every way."
"And, just think, once you get the courage to ask him out, there will be another way to silence him." The RK900 smirked a bit at the shocked look John gave him, his attention shifted to Daniel who'd walked into the room with a Thirium pouch and was now coughing as he choked on the liquid.
"What the f-uck?" The PL600 sputtered as he tried to clear the Thirium out of his lungs. "It works when applied in a certain way, I can confirm it." Nines responded casually as the older unit started coughing harder. Nines shifted his attention back to the other androids at the table, John had leaned back in his chair, covering his face with his hands as he tilted his head back, and Hugh had turned his head away from the RK900.
"Tsk, you act like such children." He rolled his eyes, looking back over his shoulder at Daniel who had finally recovered then to Bishop, giving a half hearted shrug. He wasn't about to act ashamed or apologize for what he'd said, as he personally saw nothing wrong besides how his statement had been interpreted.
Kelvin quickly shifted his gaze to her hand, it was an action he was familiar with as it was usually followed by a task. Even if he wasn't used to receiving instructions like the one's Willow was currently giving him, he'd still do his best to complete it as was expected of him.
He took a moment to think, feeling it would be best to pick something important that he'd been wanting to know, as having an answer for certain question would be useful for him. He decided the main thing he wanted to know was when his friend would be arriving to get him. So the unit began asking the question, in a short and simple way.
'Where's Jack?' He felt the question could be easily understood once he was able to say it.
Sixty stayed behind Strasky, he didn't fully trust that she had control of the situation as he'd heard other say those words, and all of them still reacted violently to flood of garbage code.
Strasky just watched the two androids, he wasn't sure of he appreciated being used as a shield, but he felt he'd likely be fine. So he allowed it, as it seemed to be helping keep Sixty relatively calm.
"I'm jus' not used to havin' it available, 'nd I've learned when to turn my head to avoid it." It had been necessary at the time for the android to learn how to deal with the lack of care for his safety, and it had become part of his normal routine that he didn't give much thought about it.
"Yeah, 'nd if they wanna keep arguin' we call Dan out. Somethin' about the threat of havin' their cars thrown makes 'em more agreeable." Thankfully Ellis had only needed Dan's help with a few customers, as most just paid and stormed off which he was fine with. Humans didn't seem to understand yelling at an android was pointless, and wouldn't get them to do what they wanted anymore.
Dan walked back to them, having finished his conversation with the group of construction units, his attention shifted to a nearby unit that had yelped. "Oh no, you spilled your Monster on your pants."
"I didn't spill anything!" The unit snapped back as he wiped off his pants. "Really? What are you wiping off right now?" Dan responded in a sarcastic tone as he folded his arms. The other android's eyes shot to the PL600, now giving him a doubting look. "M-Monster!" He snapped back before the two started laughing. A nearby female unit chuckled a bit as she approached the other android. "Maybe we shouldn't put open drinks there anymore." She recommended as she moved it away from him.
"Maybe, but it already made a mess. So what's a little more?" He laughed as she smiled at him. The two lightly touched foreheads before she walked off with the other android close behind, likely to help him get cleaned up.
"He's clumsy, but at least he's got someone who doesn't mind that." Dan said as he turned back to Rook and Ellis.
"The attention always falls on the outlier at first. But you can rely on the fact that eventually, they'll give up on trying to correct you in that department."
It was the only viable alternative, as it wouldn't be acceptable to make people choose to mind their business the way he had done.
Bishop returned the glance from behind his shades, though he hardly moved at all, "This is the point where my head scientist would be rambling about the infinite anomalies of a multiverse. You only happened to hear about another Strohmeier who is both a soldier and a romantic interest for a Peter Strasky."
He might as well toss that out there as well. Privacy and manners were things Bishop rarely respected, unless it was convenient for him. It was no surprise he didn't care about what Nines did in that regard.
"Nevertheless, he was the most successful of the survivors. Not only he neutralized one of the abominations threatening his base, he's well on his way to a full recovery, unlike the talking corpse."
The jumbled mess and fragmented memories weren't enough to discourage Willow. Trying to make sense of what Kelvin was sharing was no different from following whatever discourse was going on in Cyberspace.
She took note of what was being shown to her, being especially interested by the moment Kelvin started acting like a deviant. Could there be a connection between the anomaly and what had caused the crash?
That could be analyzed later. Knowing the entity of the damage helped with the solution. Willow raised her other hand to get Kelvin's attention. "Keep talking to me. I will try to fix you now."
She made sure to repeat the message a couple of times for good measure. The Core quickly instructed her nanites on their task, before sending them on their way. She doubted he would be able to physically speak immediately, but her hope was to sort out his software at least enough to make things a bit less confusing for him.
She briefly glanced back over her shoulder, "Calm down. I have dealt with worse."
"Yeah, of course they didn't care." Rook said, "What's stopping you from wearing them now, though? It's not like Peter's going to object to that. He clearly cares about all of you guys."
And it didn’t look like they were short on material either. Rook pushed her shades up, hiding her annoyed look.
"I know that kind of person well. You'd think there's a limit but I get schooled by clients on how to do my job. Some people just like being assholes like that. They did it to each other before they did it to androids. What matters is that you get to tell them off now."

yap session!! yay!!
fuck it. that last post got me pondering shit. so, allow me to elaborate why i dont personally believe hatsune miku would ever successfully escape aperture.
ive already mentioned in the last post i didnt think she was very smart. and why is that you ask? well, because i think that since she's an android, basically an AI, that means the only data that has ever been fed into this thing would be people's music, (and of course saki fujita's vocals but that's not important) obviously because she's a vocal synth. this, coupled with her usual sillyness would not mesh well in terms of intelligence. im convinced the only thing that is going on behind those blue (or green if you're a loser) eyes is nothing but pure chaotic sillyness and random people's music. that's it. there's not a whole lot of room for anything else up there, much less some level of intelligence.
which leads me to the conclusion that she wouldn't even think of escaping, because she wouldn't even understand that she is in danger. she probably doesn't even know what an escape is. she's just gonna wander around aimlessly humming a tune or something. completely oblivious to what aperture even is, or the extent of their crimes.
i think if she encountered wheatley, he would be the one who would end up having to pull her out of trouble instead of the other way around. i imagine he'd be completely dumbfounded by her, and if he doesn't immediately grasp that she's not a human, he might even start to think that humans are really just like that.
as for glados, i think because of miku's lack of IQ and high EQ combined with the fact that she's an android would definitely cause her to at least gain a scientific interest in her. like i think she would use these tests as an opportunity to study miku and why she is like that. perhaps even pair her up with the cooperative testing initiative and watch these 3 dumbasses try to solve puzzles or some shit.
anyways yeah, i think if it was miku instead of chell, the story would never happen. miku would just remain trapped down there with her "silly robot friends" as she would probably think of them, for the rest of eternity.
bonus: this off topic but i also think if miku was in ihnmaims she would piss AM the fuck off because there's nothing to gain out of torturing her. she has no sorrow, no pain for him to sink his claws into and use against her. she's just full of whimsy. she's not even human! AM would lose his fucking mind with her. would she even be intelligent enough to comprehend him or what he's doing to her and the 5 survivors? would she even know she was being tortured? no, she'd probably just think it's all just a game. it's all just a fucking game to her. there's not even a taste of trauma for him to relish in. she would show him kindness and he would fucking short-circuit because of how paradoxical it is to be kind to him and care about him. maybe glados was right. maybe no AI can truly resist a paradox.
except for miku. because she really isn't smart enough to even know what that is, or when a paradox is being mentioned. she has no worries or pains, only whimsy and joy.
anyways rant is over. thanks for reading.

Finally watched Paradise Regained.... and gotta say that I was right about not getting my hopes up too much. I mean like I know that some things are no longer possible (as in the fact that Izumi Masayuki-san had long left us) but yeah...
Interesting how I end up enjoying Core of Resurrection more than Paradise Regained.
While I can't say whether or not the movie could've been better if it had been a continuation of Paradise Lost, (it'll still boils down to writing) I still feel that they could've tried that route.
I actually already watched one half of the Murder Case SP before, so I was a bit meh at the forced addition of 913. I mean... why are YOU there? Why anyone tolerate that guy there? Tho ngl after finishing the movie I was glad that Keitaro wasn't really there (regardless of the reason why the actor can't be in it).
I kinda confused abt Rena/Muze like is she really an Orphnoch or what? Is Muze somewhat like Kaixa in that non-Orph can use it? Why she's like acting like ppl are going to stare at her stripping her clothes when she was just transforming--as if the gear works like the Takeshi oni transformation? Like I get the whole naked soul thing.... but it's not like normal people could see that!
Kinda disappointed that there wasn't any mention of the Orphenoch King as an explanation on how Smart Brain was able to maintain Takkun's body/stabilize his body's deterioration.
And considering how the cast had been sharing old 555 photos on their insta during the anniversary earlier... I thought they at least made more passing mention about Kiba, aside from that one old frame showing Izumi-san at the beginning. Like there's PLENTY of chances where they could've done that. Like the whole thing about hoping for a world where humans and Orphnochs can live together/co-exist was something Kiba used to strive for. Mari could have said that she was carrying on Kiba's wish for a better future. They can even bring back the clip where Kiba sacrificed himself so that Takumi can kill the Orphnoch King for all I care and reopen our wounds 😃 Like if not Mari... let Naoya say it, being the last surviving from the trio.
Ngl I find it a missed opportunity to have another Kiba tribute (even it's just a mention) when Mari tried to jump off a building to kill herself after learning that she's become an Orphnoch. Like what she did was exactly what Kiba used to do after finding out that he's no longer human (as well as becoming the monster that killed his ex-gf, cousin and uncle). Considering how Mari (and Takumi) used to have so many heart-to-heart talks with Kiba, either of them could've made that throwback and have another talk about what 'humanity' should mean to them now. Like now that she also had become an Orphnoch, perhaps she could better understand some of the complicated Kiba feelings in the past (but i get it... it's been 20 years, sometimes it's hard to dig back all the past issues...)
Also seriously I dun get what they tryna do with RenaTakumi being partners (since when?) and being close.
Also there's NO explanation as to how and why Kusaka was with the gang, considering that guy's always a big Orphnoch-hater and suddenly now he's so friendly with the Orph-kids (don't ANYONE find that sus?). Oh wait... I get the why, it's to infiltrate the gang etc.
There wasn't any explanation about why Keitaro was absent (but I don't mind) cos that means I can hc the reason being Keitaro not being able to tolerate seeing Kusaka every day, since Kusaka used to try to kill Yuka before and all the past history.
Gotta say that making both Kusaka and Kitazaki androids was a good explanation to why they're smh back with Kitazaki being much more mentally stable and Kusaka being ooc.
I wouldn't say that i totally hate the movie cos i like the part about Naoya taking care of the kids and Takumi going back to old school suit, but some of the stuff there was kinda.... is there a need for MariTaku pseudo porn? Takkun going 'pls fix me' and they went on a romp felt a bit... off. Like unless Mari's Orphnoch factor was tweaked with Orphnoch King's dna... I don't get why Takkun bonding with her could somehow... 'fix' him.
But don't take my word for it... since I'm still a MariKiba shipper. Also i miss the old Smart Lady..
Also yth 913 took over Smart Brain? Like rude?

Things North and Connor have in common
They both witnessed their own model being killed.
Often dismissed as "too radical"
Between flight or fight will always prefer to fight
Self-worth is quite a challenging concept, nothing matters more than the big end goal that they themselves may not even see.
They both killed, no matter if it's peaceful route or not, they didn't get to have their pacifist option
Can't lead the revolution without Markus.
Although in one thing they're different
North would have never chosen to sacrifice the revolution for the sake of ONE person, even if it's Markus (although it's kinda different, because no revolution seems to be possible without him)
If she ever finds out what Connor did inside CL tower before freeing those androids, that he actually had chosen to save ONE human instead of thousands of androids (before it all worked out), she'd be really angry and disappointed with him. She woudn't trust him again. She'd try to convince Markus not to trust him either, because no matter what he did, this action alone is like a betrayal of his people for the sake of what, a human? "Who's side are you on?"
