I have a few issues with "Vote blue no matter who" but I think if you sincerely believe it you have GOT to keep that shit quiet and out of the ears of Democratic politicians. Not to be a cynic but like 90% of the time when Democrats do good things it's because they want to get reelected and if Democrats become convinced that they don't have to try to build voter enthusiasm they're just gonna stop

#musings #it's a good gig being a corporate dem #you can do the bare minimum to do your job and people will still vote for you #because the alternative is an authoritarian nutjob trying to copy donald trump's homework #you can even be complicit in genocide and you'll still get votes because your opponent is verbally encouraging the genocide #don't get me wrong the republicans are almost always demonstrably worse than democrats in just about every issue #but the fact that the better alternative is still supporting a genocidal apartheid occupation is disgusting #especially since the vast majority of democratic voters are calling for a ceasefire #and democrats in congress are literally ignoring them #if you want better democrats you HAVE to start backing local politicians that align with your interests better #if you want voting to actually accomplish anything you have to work with a community to make it happen #that's why voting is so ineffective now #because doing so is by design extremely difficult
