hi. it's 9/11. you can mourn the thousands who died in the attack & mourn the thousands who were discriminated against/killed in the wave of racist / Islamophobic / anti-Arab/anti-MENA hatred generated in the heart of the American state. but you can acknowledge that while still acknowledging that people fucking died in 9/11. like thousands of people's lives were affected forever. and not for my bitterness to slip out but if you're non-MENA, especially if you're WHITE white, you should not be the ones struggling with reconciling both. thanks heart emoji
