anyway, i was actually working on it (i know i know. i even surprised myself) so the art did help ajdhshvdjajsk here’s a little wip!

Most of the notebooks in the room were old and contained years worth of notes and potential designs for various projects Tails either followed through on making or scrapped. On any other day, in any other mindset, Sonic would’ve slowed down and admired all of the little doodles and notes scattered throughout the pages. The scribbles of a little kid mixed in with mathematical equations, scientific formulas, and descriptions of gadgets most could only dream of building like droplets of color on a grey scale picture. There were sticky notes on a few pages from Sonic himself with reminders such as remembering to eat and sleep. Sonic hadn’t wanted to use up any of the actual paper just in case Tails needed the space for something more important. 

And it sure did make the hedgehog feel a kind of way to see that his little bro kept every single one.

In the fic, he's not entirely all sunshine and rainbows, he's more curious and listening to conversations intently for any clues or hints to Sonic's history with these two; he really wants to know about this chapter of his big brother and best friend's life that happened long before him. He's not necessarily jealous... but he doesn't like that there are obviously things Sonic and Mighty aren't saying while in front of him and Ray.

The way you drew all three of the Christmas islanders is just so spot on though, like who told you??? How did you see the vision before I even wrote it down? xD

Sometimes, a fic doesn't have to get published, it can just be a series of messages on a Discord channel, between a dedicated group of friends going "oooh, you know what else would be cool?" continuously over a period of weeks and months :)

love the idea that tails thinks of “tails” and “miles prower” as two different people. inner child type shit but in a very unhealthy way

tails is the sidekick. the genius. he has a big brother, a home and so many friends. he’s saved the world so many times. he’s accepted and cared for unconditionally

meanwhile miles prower is the sad little kid, living on his own. he’s dirty and hungry, disturbing and unwanted. a mutant. a curse

no one loved miles prower, but people love tails

miles prower died so tails could be reborn from his ashes

do other people see it this way? fuck no?? his name is miles “tails” prower. he’s not one or the other. but tails can’t help but seperate the two

and he’s not sure how he feels about little miles prower
