Imagine being a fully grown adult and needing to "take a break from the fandom" because of (unconfirmed) news articles claiming that Louis Tomlinson (aka a man who does not even know who you are) is dating a woman. Peak example of a parasocial relationship, log of tumblr and please go outside and stop acting like you are some sort of victim

RPF has existed for decades, but I have never, ever seen an RPF ship break the fandom barrier into IRL and wreak havoc on the lives of countless people like Larry and Larries. 15 years and counting now. It is unprecedented! Their behavior is dangerous, cultish and has obviously had negative impact. On the fandom and the celebrities they claim to stan. Somebody with a platform should do an in depth dive on Larry and Larries. Perhaps bringing attention to it in mainstream will discourage that behavior in future fandoms.

The issue with RPF is that people seem to forget that at the end of the day these are REAL people. If you want to write a silly little story of the 1D boys going on a road trip or relaxing on the beach that's fine. The issue is when these stories break a barrier of just morally gross content that I'm pretty sure 99.9% of these writers would not dare tell people they know in real life in fear of getting judged. There's is genuinely no sane reason why you could look at ANYONE and go "yeah I'm going to write a detailed story of them getting r*ped or s*lf harming or even being a victim of to a p*do. The fact that a majority of the time these are written by ADULTS is even more concerning. (And no your own trauma is not a valid excuse for writing stories like these, its a concerning coping strategy)

The issue with these Larries in general is that they seem to be extremely hypocritical about this situation l. They'll complain how the After series is creepy and gross but these will be the same grown adults that have a "fic fests" where they'll happily and publicly post stories of either one of the boys as minors engaging in sexual activities for nothing more then their own sick gratification. Some of these people were adults back in 2010 and say Harry grow from a 16 year old, it's so weird. I'm pretty sure publications have called Larries out in the past, Louis himself has called them out but all Larries do is get angry at him and act like their the victims. Imagine if a grown man wrote fanfic sexualising a singer like Zendaya when she was a minor and writing sexually charged stories of her as a kid with her Co stars from her Disney day. That man would be rightfully shunned, I don't know why Larries think it's ok

This is why I've stayed away from fanfiction for a while now. Websites like AO3 have no issue allowing these creeps to make content (and no a content warning isn't good enough)

Yeah, I honestly see myself as an Ot5, and the idea of wanting a reunion when Liam hasn't even been dead for a year is extremely insensitive (look what happened to Boyzone). If they decide to never reunite so be it, the 1D contract ended years ago and they do not owe anyone anything

Hi, you mentioned in tags of one of your posts that Liam's family was the only 1D family who didn't try to profit off of their son.

Can you elaborate? I'm a new fan so I don't know much about the families. How have they profited off the boys? I know they bought houses for them but I don't know if that counts as profiting.

First of all, I just want to note that I am in no way criticising any of the boys families for making a career of being associated with 1D. As long as the boys are ok with it that's all that matters.

Basically, every other 1D family member seemed to have utalised that fact that they were related to the biggest boy band as a way to help launch their careers or to sell a product

I think Louis family is the most notable. Lottie with touring with 1D to train in hair and make up. She then launched a self tanning company but now seems to just be an influencer and it that time also published a book. Both of Louis twin sisters also dropped out of school (to his disapproval) to join the influencing scene which was clearly carried by. His step-father Mark tried to release a book based on his family, but it appears this is no longer happening.

Harry's sister Gemma did actually get a degree in genetics to become a science teacher (which I have to add is impressive). But later on stopped to launch a sunglasses line. Now, she's also an influencer (however more of a holistic one) and has recently published a book. His mother Anne has also released a children's book herself.

Nialls brother Greg, released a magazine about his son Theo which also gave insights into Nialls life too. For Theos 1st birthday they released gold coins with his face on it

All of Zayns sisters are influencers and own a fake eyelash company, additionally Doniya is a professional makeup artist and owns a a salon

Liams family (from my own research so please correct me if I'm wrong) seems to be the only ones that didn't really get into the whole influencer image using Liams name. In fact you can't really find anything public about them unless you scroll through their social media accounts

Do I think Louis is a racist? No, the situation happened over a decade ago, I think that is enough time for him to grow and quite frankly he has not done anything in recent years to warrant racist accusations.

However on a plus not I really do wish that him along with Niall (and sometimes even Harry) worked more with people of colour. But no, this is not me accusing any of the three of being racist

A few months ago louies were having a meltdown on Twitter bc Louis told his sister and all other family members to censor his son’s face in pictures they post on social media. louies were crying about how this hurt them bc it means Louis doesn’t trust them anymore 💀 Yes that’s what most of them care about most, not the safety of a child. Why do they feel entitled to see family photos anyway?? Where are the boundaries? Why is stan culture like this??

Majority of the fanbase have been unhinged since the beginning. These are the people who insist his son is fake and is a PR stunt and insist his relationships are fake and are PR stunts. The same people who think it’s normal to stalk him to his hometown, harass his family, and treat Louis like he’s a fictional doll and not a real human being. Everything Louis says or does, if it’s not something louies like, they blame Management aka the boogeyman. Tbh I doubt Louis has ever trusted the fanbase bc there 100% isn’t any rational reason for him to.

May Louis Tomlinson grow a larger fanbase not only because his music is good and he deserves it, but so that when his fans are mainly the general public they can weed out his Larry fans.

I’m glad I never had twitter so see that unhinged behaviour, NO ONE is entitled to see photos of Freddie except his loved ones. Since Freddie was still in the womb, larries have been creepily gathering photos of him and Briana while she was pregnant to prove he wasn’t Louis’ kid. Fun fact, collecting photos of a strangers kid is not normal behaviour. Stalking and harassing a stranger and their family is not normal behaviour. I’m glad that he’ll get more privacy now.

Yes Louis has had his hardships in his career but some of these theories are nonsense (like babygate, seriously ?😭). I’m glad Louis is putting his foot down with these fans such as blocking larries, denying Larry in interviews and outright calling them out online (chicken parmesan call out tweet you will ALWAYS be famous🙂‍↕️)

I remember when all those voices came out, I saw a post from a Larry airing their grievances on how they were done with Louis and not seeing the film because Freddie was in it…let that sink in, someone (most likely a grown adult) wanted to stop supporting Louis because of a CHILD😭 At that point they were never even a Louis fan, they just saw him as one half of Larry

While I genuinely do think Louis loves and trusts his fans, I do see your point, they hate those close to him for no reason(Liam) or a larries which is another can of worms. Those who don’t fall into either category are genuinely nice people and love Louis as much as he loves them

March 1st was the one year anniversary Louis supported Teardrops, Solo Louies bullied Liam, called him a loser and wished Louis would leave him alone

Now Liam is dead they want to pretend they never had grievances about Liam and Louis was so good for supporting him.

If Louies don't understand why Liam fans are upset by this then I suggest you seek guidance, accountability and understanding is something you're meant to have developed as a kid

So a former solo Louie confided in their personal experience with how toxic the fandom space was and due to this they've distanced themselves from the solo space and decided to follow all the boys again. And with reading all that ,your response is to not take ANY accountability for how toxic you and your friends have been, ignore all very rational points such as the double standards around Louis’ Veeps show, the way Liam was treated for going to ATV and how Liam was made fun of when Louis supported teardrops…But instead frame that former solo Louie as someone who doesn't care about Louis or Liam…….the mental gymnastics is gold medal worthy I tell you. You don't get to pretend you valued Louis and Liams friendship now Liam is dead. This time last year, you and your friends insulted Liam because Louis supported Teardrops, called him a “loser” and that Louis should leave him alone….now one year later you're acting as if you were never so spiteful

What’s even funny is that I’ve gotten multiple messages talking about how that particular blog has spewed hate about Liam for years, but surprise surprise now he’s gone they want to judge how people who have cared for Liam since day one should react, keep Harries out of your mouth, you defending Liam one time means nothing when you were literally bullying a few months ago (Facts are more important than opinions….yeah it’s a known fact Louie’s we’re shitty to Liam, what’s stopping you from admitting that)
