Some time ago I have discovered that the catalog with all of my edits from this year’s World Championships in Milan was missing. Surely, at that moment one goes into panic because hours and hours of editing and sorting out is gone. Yet I thought this must be some kind of a blessing in disguise.

To be perfectly honest, I do not know when my next event will be, it might be that I won’t photograph skating at all during the 2018-2019 season, so with time on my hands, I thought I might sort through those pictures and edit them again throughout the year. And last night I sat down to edit. What came to me was something I did not expect.

Among the lights and colours, I found something that was hidden before. And now I keep asking myself just what is over-editing then. Part of me, as I post these pictures, waits for someone to come and scold me for the nonsense I am doing. But at this point so many people take wonderful pictures of skating, I might as well take time and come back to my old pictures with all the new experiences and put those experiences to use. Even if it’s a nonsense, it’s okay.

I hope someone still enjoys my pictures. If you do, I am glad. Thank you for continuous support through those couple of years when I had the opportunity to photograph this beautiful sport. Whatever the results, it is still the most beautiful.

It’s been a long time since I took this photo and I’ve already posted it countless times… but today it seems more appropriate than ever before.

Since this photo was taken, many things have happened that won’t leave our hearts and minds for a long time, maybe ever.

What we saw today is one of those things. 

Yet what happened today is already history, the past that we will keep alive and cherish in our minds.

Tomorrow is a new day, a new challenge, a new performance. 

Without dismissing Yuzuru’s previous achievements, it needs to be said that they are all in the past, and it will be tomorrow that he will have to perform again and on that performance he will be judged again.

And so it ends. 2017 was a lot! 💛 Massive thank you to everyone who supported me, talked to me and whom I had a chance to meet. You made it special. 😊 Now on to 2018! Happy New Year! See you at Worlds! ✌
