honestly you all are so annoying because motherhood IS interesting but fandom people are simultaneously obsessed with deciding that every woman has motherly qualities and completely disinterested in actually exploring motherhood as a role that informs a character. I do think exploring a character being a mother can be wildly interesting if they are canonically one, but because of misogyny, people just view motherhood as a totally unremarkable naturalized state that all women must inhabit!
#for real!!!!!!!!!!!#I am not a mother but as someone who works with children for a living I have met a lot of them#one of my best friends was a teen mom (now an adult mom. I love her so much and have learned so much from her)#I am constantly in awe of mothers#there is so much that they juggle and the idea of the 'perfect mom' is such bullshit#there are many ways to parent well and not parent well but it's not a state of being#it's built upon multiple actions/inactions every day#culture and trauma and nature vs nurture and more all come together#there's people who have always wanted to be parents and people who were forced into parenthood and people who stumbled upon it#and none of those determine how well you will handle motherhood#also!#who is supporting this character? does this character have sufficient support? what would that look like for them specifically?#I love children. My life's purpose is to help children. But I could never be a mother#not everyone has the ability to opt out of that. Neither of my grandmothers did. they have encouraged me the most to pursue my passions#thank you for listening to my ted talk

it was so wild when people used to post "i'm 12 away from my next hundred!!!" and their mutuals would reblog it and be like "FOLLOW THEM!!!" and then people WOULD and people used to post "looking for blogs to follow...i like these things" and then list their interests and then people would rb and follow them and people would do follow forevers and create and engage with ask games and tag games and sleepover saturday and reblog posts and it was so much fun and i miss it
