Last month I learned that all the Jem and the Holograms episodes are on Tubi and now THIS!

Be still, my elder millennial childhood, heart. Trapper Keepers are back.
The Universe knew with all this ratchetry in America, my spirit would appreciate these pockets of joy.
I was chillin earlier, and asked myself out of nowhere if Trapper Keepers are still being sold. A quick Google search determined that Mead relaunched them in 2021. I found a whole bunch of them on Amazon (affiliate link).
I think I need one for nostalgia purposes.
I egg on my inner child at any and all opportunities. My childhood was in the 80’s and 90’s. We had FUN, fa real fa real.
Almost every kid in school had at least one Trapper Keeper. They had something for everyone. Lisa Frank notebooks (and binders) and a Trapper Keeper binder were always on deck for me. I swore they helped me study more and focus better. Hahaha.
I’m very tempted to get that Stranger Things (affiliate link) one. I love that show.
Though I like the nostalgic designs, I’d love if Mead designed a collection with designs to meet the current times now too.
If I were the graphic design team, I’d pick some backgrounds like these for a test collection and see how they do:

I need to find or make a collar clip like this. Here it’s being worn as accessory for your jeans.
It’s such a nice touch to add some umph to an outfit. I’d skip the pearls and use crystal beads like Jade, garnet, or citrine.
This pearl one would look cute with an easy casual outfit like this:

Crayola hinge, bangle bracelet
I"m minding my business on a week night, casually scrolling through Pinterest, as I do sometimes a couple of hours before bed. The algorithm decided to show me mostly accessories and right at the top of the feed when I opened it was this image.
I instantly said out loud, "Ooo!" I immediately noticed the Crayola crayon bangle bracelet and childhood memories of coloring in coloring books and drawing pictures for my parents flooded me.
I love bangle style bracelets and so this bracelet is right up my alley in style and then you add the design, color, and nostalgia, and for me, you've got a winner.
Jewelry designer Nadine Ghosn collaborated with Crayola on this open hinge, bangle bracelet and I “need” it!
I’m sad that I only stumbled on it through Pinterest yesterday, because it looks like the bracelet dropped last year and was a limited edition. I don’t see it on her website. 😞
I can't afford her’s right now anyway. 😜. They ranged from $7,000-$21,000 USD 😮💨🤑
I’ll take a dupe or knock off. Universe, you know what to do!
On another note, I like the pencil bangle bracelet in that picture too. I’m able to find dupes or iterations of that one on Amazon, like this Betsy Johnson one (affiliate link), and on Etsy, so I may get one of those for now.
This crayon bangle is soo cute, chic, and definitely nostalgic though. I’m on the hunt for a dupe.
Would you rock a Crayola crayon or a crayon dupe bangle bracelet? How would you style it?

I really don’t need anymore tote bags but….
these ones by Savant Studios are tempting me to make room for two more.
Then I’ll be done buying tote bags for real, for real. 🤞🏾
I learned of this brand from watching one of the episodes from Tiffany M. Battle’s new Sunday Stroll series on YouTube.

I love the composition tote because it reminds me of my childhood school days filling copious amounts of composition notebooks with art, doodles, collages, and school assignments.
This carrot colored suede tote is just divine and I don’t have a bag anything like it. I see myself wearing it especially with denim on denim outfits. But I have many ideas how I’d style it.
Some looks inspiration to pair the suede carrot tote

A look similar to this one would be cool with the composition tote bag

Sundress Summer
Sundress me all spring and summer, please. I want fit n flare style sundresses in mini, knee, and midi-length and circle skirts in mini and knee-length all season long.

Preferred fabrics are natural and breathable fibers like cotton and linen. I may make some exceptions for rayon. Absolutely NO 🙅🏾♀️ polyester, modal, lyocell, etc though. Or I'm avoiding it to the best of my ability.

Credit: unknown. If you know any of them please let me know and I will add them.
I know all those these pictures show neutral color dresses. They are to represent the styles and silhouettes moreso than the color palettes that I have in mind. I love color. Though I like neutrals, bring on the color and flattering prints too!

French rolls come to the front of the room
Word on the street is that French rolls are back and I’m thrilled! This hairstyle hated to see me coming back in my high school days. All the fly Black teen girls and women rocked this iconic ‘do HARD back in the 90’s.

Credit: omalocsbeauty
It’s versatile too. You can rock it casually with jeans and a tee or dress it up for a formal or black tie affair.
If you’re like me with a lot of hair, it’s a great alternative to a hair claw that you can’t fit all your locs in anyway. I’m spinnin the block on this hairstyle stat.

The soundtrack for this post has to be a 90’s song and who better than SWV.

Feeling impulsive

Screw renting a Citi Bike, my previous post has me contemplating getting one of my own.
I'm looking at hybrid bikes with the cruiser design now. I can already see myself riding one to the farmers' markets, in the parks, across the bridges, etc.
I love being active outdoors and enjoyed riding bikes in my youth. I'm an elder millennial and back in our day, on summer break, a pack of kids would ride their bikes miles away to the next town over with no money or cell phones (because they were huge and not everyone had one back then) or way of tracking us. We survived on water from the water fountains and fruit snacks if we remembered to bring them. Some kind of way, our parents expected us to come back home safely in time for dinner and we always did!

A lot of people ride bikes where I now live (New York City) and the city has made the streets more bike accessible over the last 10 years. My inner child REALLY likes this one (affiliate link) pictured above that comes in a lilac color way and a basket to go on the front. I plan to only ride on roads and parks so it'd be perfect for my needs.
I'm holding off on buying it just yet because I may just be feeling impulsive. If I find that I'm still thinking about it though, I'm buying it. I do plan to be outdoors even more this spring and summer. Nature heals and centers me and I need that especially right now in my life.

I need to listen to this song on a blue tooth speaker during a sunny spring day while riding a bike on an open road. I feel so present and free every time I listen to it.
Is there a song that illicits that feeling for you? If so, what is it?

It’s the bag and the balaclava for me.
I love the peach sherbet color of the coat too. Such a rare colorway for outerwear these days. It’s refreshing.

These ceramic takeaway cups by Kim Wallace Ceramics are so cute that I had to order one. They’re handmade and most designs are dishwasher safe.

I can see myself sipping on an iced or hot Kashmiri pink chai latte in one once when mine delivers.

This could be crocheted 🤔 I’d want something else instead of Nike on it though, and keep the swoosh. I’m thinking another word but still in the Nike font.
