I finally finished stitching this ! It was my first big project, i started in February

It's full of mistakes (& missing the bottom row) but for a first big thing i still like it ! I learned a lot while doing it

i used to create my art 100% in black and white to understand values, and i think that greatly benefited my art. I create each layer in different values, starting with the foreground being black then background fading to white. understanding the values made addind monochrome color a lot easier, then once i mastered doing monochrome i started using blended color palettes. a big thing i like to do when creating palettes is using actual photographs then heavily editing the colors to be more magical/saturated etc. that alone will train your eye and color selection skills :)

How do you decide on palettes for your paintings? Your colors are always so cohesive

moodboards with multiple photos/photo bashing/layering images then filtering them to get them more cohesive, i also filter my art after its done to color correct/make it more cohesive.

Still figuring out what works for me. I was stitching in hand towards the end, and I think I like that. I might try for that with the next one.
