Haven't posted here in a while, but so much has happened!

First off, I got out of a nasty home situation that I won't delve too much in to. But I've got my own place now and it's nice not having to rely on someone else.

Percival is fully grown and an absolute menace! He's still in his nibbling years and he doesn't know how to play soft yet, but he is an endless ball of love that helps me get through the day.

Work is still a shit show. Can't say much more than that, but it pays the bills until a better position comes around. Just gotta stick it out until then.

Been taking my health a bit more seriously recently. Finally went to the doctor and got back onto happy meds that I started today, so we'll see how much they help. Also will officially be getting on birth control and I'm trying to exercise a bit more (just ran a mile in 17:30 minutes!).

And last but not least, I've been getting back into fandom writing! I've made prompts and shared ideas, but I'm actually writing now. It's slow going, but I've got a bang piece that'll be posted in December.

To be honest, I've got a lot more to update beyond just that, but I'll wrap this up here. Gotta get back into the writing groove~

Reading The Smoke 01.01.2024

Even after all this time, I am still a baby witch and don't know all the card meanings off the top of my head (still using a guide). But I'm looking forward to getting the practice in this year~

Pull -The Moon (Reversed) -Eight of Wands -Ten of Pentacles (Reversed)

Meanings -The Moon (R): Release of Fear, Repressed Emotion, Inner Confusion -Eight of Wands: Speed, Action, Air Travel, Movement, Swift Change -Ten of Pentacles (R): The dark side of wealth, Financial failure or loss

Intent / Interpretation: My intent with this pull was to get a sort of baseline. Taking my goals and current plans into account, I wanted to see what the future looks like on this path.

The Moon reversed pulled as my first card. Honestly, this one made a lot of sense, particularly with the release of fear. I just recently confronted someone close to me on how they've been treating me and set some boundaries with a deadline for them. I had been putting it off for a few months, giving them the benefit of the doubt and taking on certain responsibilities onto myself. I finally took the time to stand up for myself, while the result of that is yet to be seen.

The Eight of Wands was a bit on the nose, but not in a bad way! Swift change is probably referencing my roommate situation (considering the ultimatums I gave to continue living with them) or just with my plans to better myself. A lot of change all at once that will take a lot to keep up. Even daily pulls is a massive change. Air travel also makes sense, considering I have a work trip coming up and some plans to travel out of state for a bit.

The Ten of Pentacles reversed worries me a bit. A lot of my goals and plans involve finances and money to back them. A financial loss could be seen as a good thing in literal senses, since it could mean that the loss is played in tandem with completing some of my goals. A financial failure could also mean that I don't do any of what I intend to do. It's hard to tell at this point.

Overall, this feels optimistic to me. I choose to see this as optimistic, regardless of how much the final card worries me. I'm starting on a better foot this year, with more respect for myself and surrounded by people who want what's best for me. I can do this!

Did I do any of what I set out to do creatively last year? No, no I did not. But! It's a brand new year with brand new goals and priorities! I'm going to try using this space as a way to archive my own growth and projects again, hopefully with a bit more frequency.

There are some literary, some cosplay, some tarot things I want to do better at recording. For myself if for no one else. So here's to a new opportunity for a fun year! Bring it on, 2024~

I just finished "The Mighty Nein The Nine Eyes of Lucien," and let me tell you, I have never been more happy to have picked up a book in a long time!

This was the perfect start to my 1-book-a-month goal. Since I tend to hyper-fixate pretty hard on my interests, reading a book based on the characters of that hyper-fixation just makes sense.

The book gave a truly haunting insight and story to the Tiefling before our Circus Man came to be, and all the nods and Easter eggs to other campaigns and lore were a massive treat.

If you love angst and whump with an open ending for growth, I highly recommend giving this a read. Well worth the time~ And if you prefer audio books, Robbie Daymond narrates and the cast reprise their characters, so it's very reminiscent of a podcast.

For my next book, I might do a review per chapter or every few chapters. It'll be spoiler heavy obviously, but this is mainly for me anyway. I do love a good journey~
