DEAR FUTURE PARENTS

Do NOT under any circumstances use your teens phone or iMessages in settings to spy on every single thing they send. Especially if you do it behind their back without their consent. Teens need to know you’re on their side and that you trust them. It hurts (as a teen) knowing that your parents don’t trust you enough to leave them alone and give them personal space. This includes social media and email. It’s not okay. It’s not helping them in any way. It’s not “keeping them safe”. It’s spying. It’s clingy. It’s untrustworthy.
