Happy birthday to Lyudmila Pavlichenko (born July 12, 1916), Soviet sniper in World War II, with 309 confirmed kills.
A true role model for today.

So Trump's DOJ is suing the state of Washington because WA's new mandated reporting law says that clergy (among many other professions) are legally obligated to report ongoing child abuse if they know about it. And the Christofascists in the Trump regime call that "anti-catholic"

Okay, I know people are like 'I don't want Buck and Tommy to get together over the hiatus, and okay, but like, picture this:
All throughout 9x1, it's normal calls, right? Maybe one of the 118 asks Buck how his new place is going, and Buck kind of shrugs nonchalantly and says, "Good," but we see a small smile on his mouth, so something is up. Then that's all we hear about it for the rest of the episode.
The busy, chaotic day passes, there's a huge apartment fire downtown and everyone is exhausted. We see Buck driving somewhere unfamiliar. He pulls into a driveway, with the porch light on to guide him up the front sidewalk. He unlocks the door, kicks off his shoes, sets his bag down.
The house is dark, except for a small light above the microwave, still guiding him in. It's late, and the house is quiet, but this is the most welcome Buck has ever felt, that feeling in his chest only growing in the last few months, where grief and love comingle comfortably.
He makes his way down a short hallway to the bedroom, door cracked just so, another small lamp lighting the way on the left side of the bed.
He doesn't even undress, just crawls into bed. The other person grunts a little when Buck collapses on him, but Tommy smiles sleepily, cups Buck's cheek and says,
"Welcome home, Evan."
And that's how Buck gets a new place and a boyfriend back. 😏

The thing you gotta understand about Mr. Terrific in the new Superman movie is that he is always the smartest man in the room.
And he HATES it.
It's not that he hates being smart, he just hates how he can never quite predict how dumb everyone else is.
Just when he thinks he knows how low Guy's IQ is: "we are both of the cloth"
No, Lois, we can't repel down there, WHERE WOULD WE GET THE EQUIPMENT?
DO YOU REALLY NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIRCLES AND SPHERES?!??!?
WHY WOULD YOU BRING YOUR DOG TO THIS TEAR IN THE FABRIC OF REALITY?
And then, when there's someone who actually is intelligent, it's like the intelligence only increases their capacity for dumbassery
Lex, you're supposed to be a super genius so whY WOULD YOU BUILD A GOD DAMN POCKET DIMENSION?!?!!?!

ive seen people list the moment they knew superman 2025 got clark or lois right. for me it was when faced with the choice of sex or an interview with superman lois immediately chose the interview much to clark's dismay. iconic behaviour. fully in character for her.

Mad props to James Gunn for giving Lois agency. She saves Superman! She figures out what’s happening with Lex. At no point in the movie does Clark have to save Lois. It’s so nice getting to watch a woman just be a brilliant badass. I also think this is the first time I’ve seen Lois interact with the Kents. When she tells Clark she loves him too it’s because she’s seen him as Superman hero of Metropolis and Clark Kent from Smallville.

Do you think they’ll stay in that apartment? Because I kinda miss the house that burned down.
Rubinstein: That set was very hard to shoot lighting-wise. It was a very dark space. We all did love it, and the interior decoration of that place was incredible. But we’ve got to remember we had some beautiful moments there.

I made a couple of posts about Superman already but here is the video related to my post about why I don’t mind that Guy is the one to arrive to save the Jarhanpurian people instead of Superman.
Obviously spoilers for Superman 2025
Guy Gardner arriving at Jarhanpur
I will be linking this to my original post but a detail I really love as a fan of Guy is the sheer amount of terror his mere presence instills in the army, so much so that basically all the military personnel is retreating.
And that’s another thing I want to add on to this whole discussion. Sometimes, simply being there is enough. Sometimes it’s not, but there are times when simply taking the time to be there to help is enough, and I think it’s a lovely thing to encourage people to do. To just get up and be there.
