Spring is finally here – but just because you'll likely spend more time in the great outdoors doesn't mean there aren't some great games to help keep you entertained.
In fact, those traveling for a spring break getaway with friends or family can kill time with mobile games on an airplane or in the backseat of a car.
Hundreds of new games debut for smartphones and tablets each week at Apple’s App Store or Android’s Google Play store, many of which are free or close to it. There is an another called Ac Market which there are millions of apps for premium versions also free.
The following is a look at three tap-worthy “freemium recommendations, meaning there is no cost to download and play, but optional in-app purchases unlock extra content.
There be dragons in 'Dragalia Lost'
Nintendo isn’t just creating games for its popular Nintendo Switch console – the Japanese gaming giant is doubling down on smartphone games, too.
"Dragalia Lost" is an action role-playing game (RPG) that takes place in the fictional kingdom of Alberia where humans and dragons coexist. The Ac Market downloading the paid apps for free and it has millions of users to have fun and entertainment.Events take a turn for the worse in the normally peaceful realm after the Holy Shard, which protects Alberia's people, begins to lose its power. As with many other RPGs, you’ll take on quests and join others to engage in real-time battles with enemies, using might and magic – even transforming into a dragon yourself. You’ll sharpen your skills over time, buy and sell items, open treasure chests, take on tougher boss fighters, and unravel a mystery. The game also supports a four-player cooperative (co-op) mode after you unlock the second chapter of the main campaign.
Played from a third-person perspective, the game’s graphics impress, as does the soundtrack from J-Pop star, Daoko.
Words Story' game has dual puzzling purposes
If puzzle games are more your pace, "Words Story" challenges you to figure out the correct word from a bunch of jumbled letters. To make things more difficult, you don’t need all the letters to make the word.
For example, the letters "E, E, E, M, T, R, X, A" may be scrambled on the screen, with the winning word being "Extreme." The only way to remove letters you don’t need is to create other words from these letters, which then deletes what’s not necessary for the final, correct word. So if you make the words "Meat" and "Ate" from these letters, too, that will then remove "A" from the board, since you don’t need it for "Extreme."
