The Sins don't HAVE to be as rigid as people say they do.

It's been a while since I took a more neutral stance on HB. Maybe the people who insist I'm a sexless virgin who hates women and gay people will decide that I'm actually like a person with complex views that aren't all negative. Crazy.

Anyways, I wanted to talk about the seven Deadly Sins and how a lot of people's views on them are kinda basic and stale, at least in my opinion.

Obviously, it would make sense for the Seven Deadly Sins to be the full embodiment of the sins they represent and to be as depraved, fucked up, and hellish as possible. There's nothing wrong with that. But it's been clear for a while that that's not exactly how the Vivzieverse operates.

The Seven Deadly Sins do get something out of demons indulging in their sin, at least I think they do. Obviously, Mammon gets money out of extorting people, and Beelzebub gets honey(?) when people get fucked up at her parties, so there's clearly a reason for them to be doing whatever it is they do.

In my eyes, the reason why sins like Beelzebub and Asmodeus prefer to have their demons willingly and gleefully indulge rather than tempt them with false promises is because whatever they get out of having people do it willingly is far higher quality when it's willing verses when it's not. And it keeps them coming back.

I mean, think about it. If Asmodeus were truly the embodiment of Lust through and through and didn't care how people were fucking, as long as they were fucking, people would end up getting hurt. People would end up getting taken advantage of. People would end up traumatized and they'd think of him and the entirety of lust as depraved and fucked. Demons are sentient and intelligent beings after all. And they do feel things like betrayal and mistrust.

The same goes for Beelzebub. If people gorged themselves to the point of sickness, if they drank themselves nearly to death, when they finally got up, they'd be unhappy, and I can't imagine that'd make gluttony all that appealing to these demons who are already tired of authority and being taken advantage of.

So instead, they try and make their sins fun and enjoyable for the most part. Asmodeus shills dating sites anf Beelzebub is still encouraging people to get so drunk they can't see straight, but people are having fun. They're enjoying themselves. And that enjoyment and indulgment is what makes them their.... Whatever. I still don't know.

So basically, the Seven not being as depraved and fucked as people want isn't really a bad thing when you actually give it some deeper thought. I'll probably make another post talking more about how I'd tweak Hell's system to actually make these ideas stand out a little, but I wanted to try and get something out.

Convinced that 70% of the people who defend Stolitz are middle class white people who think that because they're queer that makes them oppressed when any form of oppression has probably been on Twitter. Never had to worry about rent because they still live with their parents and don't have a single friend who's a person of color living in America.

You are such a funny little thing, aren’t ya? … you’ve got a whole page dedicated to hating Helluva Boss. A whole page. That’s not media analysis at that point, that’s a personality trait. You can’t call other people “echo chamber dwellers” while you’re sitting in a self-built shrine to how much you hate a cartoon demon. C’mon now.

Also, if you’re gonna throw out accusations like “Stolas is a rapist,” you better back that up with actual evidence from the show, not just vibes. That’s a huge claim and tossing it around for “comedic effect” or because you’re mad at a ship or creator makes it real hard to take you seriously. You can’t demand respectful conversation and then open with a Molotov cocktail.

You say you don’t care “that much,” but you’ve clearly spent a lot of time and energy on this. If people choose to engage, maybe it’s not because they’re fragile stans. You clearly put a lot of your time and effort on this, don’t get shy now.

Critique is fine. Disliking a show is fine. But dont start to be defensive and act like you have moral superiority when you clearly dont. And also you can call out someone and then block them lol, that’s what most of helluva boss fans do. Don’t act as if we are going after you all the time, most of your post have no real traction on them.

A Short Message for Helluva Boss/Stolitz Fans (CW for a mention of r@pe)

I'm always being told not to use certain tags because "HB fans don't wanna see criticism" and I just wanted to address that specifically in a post.

Just because you want to live in an echo chamber doesn't mean everyone else should. You people whine about bad faith and then refuse to engage in discussions that might not align with your exact opinions and instead default to saying "media literacy" and "you're just a hater." I'm not. I'm hust doing media analysis. Sometimes I'll play up my dislike of Stolitz and HB for comedic effect, but ultimately, I don't actually care all that much outside of the shitty moral implications. Yeah I do think Stolas is a r@pist. If discussions of that do trigger you, then that's valid, but if you're just offended because I hold a negative personal opinion about your favorite little woobie, then there's nothing I can do.

I use the Helluva Boss and Stolitz tags in my posts because that's what I'm talking about. I also tag my posts with the critical tags because that's what my posts are about. It's not my responsibility to hide my posts from you because you're mad I don't like your favorite show. It's not my or other's responsibility to curate an echo chamber for you. It's like the scene from Archer where Pam (I think that's her name.) and the old lady are talking about self worth. For context, Archer is a selfish asshole who likes to sleep with attractive women. Pam isn't someone he sees as attractive. She's overweight and a bit of a dunce sometimes. But the two of them get absolutely hammered and have sex. Archer doesn't even remember who it was but he does remember that is was mind blowingly good. When he does find out it was Pam, he's disgusted, but he keeps going back because yk he's a jackass. Later, Pam is talking to another woman about her relationship with Archer and she says something along the lines of "Who cares if he thinks you're below his standards? Who says you're not using him for sex? I know who I am and I know my own worth."

Anyways, that's how I think about Stolitz. Stolas has been nothing but self absorbed, crass, and borderline racist to Blitz. Stolas uses Blitz for nothing but a sexual escape from his shitty marriage. Who says Blitz can't do the same? Why does Stolas get to use Blitz for his petty misery but Blitz can't?

Since you claim Blitz is the “victim” in his relationship with Stolas (he isn’t; they’ve both done shitty things to each other), then what is your opinion on what happened in Ozzie’s? You, know, when Blitz USED Stolas to spy on his employees?

Blitz IS the victim in his "relationship" with Stolas (if you can even call it that), but enough people already talked about this, so I'm not gonna waste my breath. What I will say though, is that it was STOLAS who sexually coerced Blitz: he wouldn't have been able to do his job (or provide for his employees and daughter) if he had said no to him. the existence of Asmodean crystals makes no sense based on what was previously established, aka the book was the only access to the human world

If Blitz had used Stolas to spy on M&M after Stolas was nothing but kind towards him and there was no sexual coercion involved, Blitz would have been in the wrong and a real jerk. BUT I can't blame him for using Stolas after all the shit Stolas had put him through. How the hell was Blitz supposed to think to himself: "Yeah, this guy developed actual romantic feelings for me."???

The Hazbin and Helluva fanbases have such a huge issue with arophobia and aphobia, and no one wants to talk about it. No surprise though, they also don’t wanna talk about their rampant racism because then they have to examine their (and Viv’s) biases.

Yup. It's kinda crazy how the only two prominent Aro/ace characters are a teenager and a guy that nobody likes. It's even crazier that Vivziepop makes jokes about "nobody wanting to fuck" Mammon and then go around and say he's asexual. Like come the fuck on. There's a difference between not experiencing sexual attraction and literally being unfuckable.

Like the idea that Blitz, a person who's apart of a class of people that are discriminated against and have an incredibly difficult time getting jobs, and a person who's more than willing to sacrifice his own needs for the sake of people he cares about (ex: him giving the one bedroom in his apartment to Loona) would be in any way able to consent willingly to the book deal is completely ludicrous. Blitz would've said yes if Stolas asked him to do back breaking manual labor that pushed him to the brink of death just to get the book and support his family. That's his character.

And the fact that Stolas is so woobified that people genuinely believe that it's okay for Stolas to be so bletantly ignorant of his social standing and how he holds power over Blitz regardless of his romantic feelings is insane.
