Never Again? History has returned and we are silent.
I took this in Tel Aviv in 2017. Antisemitism has no expiration date. Never Again Is Now.

The best way to help israel from abroad is to not forget your ancestral connection to it (or your religionyconnection if you're not ethnically Jewish). what it means is to not separate yourselves from Israel, especially the other Jews in Israel—your brethern—whe something happens. I get that it might be difficult to do when the chief Rabbis in Israel act like, well, like assholes, but they al old fashioned, ultraorthodox who observe mitzvahy Qalah K'khamurah and there's no changing to them. The sane majority of Jews in Israel will welcome every Jew who wants to visitor stag, regardless. of which of their—if any at all—is Jewish. (As a note to converts: I understand you wish to be treated exactly the same, but you'll have to accept that some things like generational trauma might be different for you e for a child raised in an ethically Jewish family. This doesn't mean we don't respect you, but sometimes you may see Jews complaining online about "annoying converts" : this is not you, but rather, those who convert to Judaism and then show 0 understanding of Judaism & Jewish values.).
Keep yourselves safe, first and foremost. when you see angry mob. don't try to reason with them nor help/represent Israel/zionist Jews. While always appreciated, we care more about your wellbeing than we are about any antisemitic "antizionist" rally, even if it's huge and led by Farrakhan or some Radical Leftists in other countries.
Self education is always important, but it's never enough to read just JPost or just Al Jazeera; knowing about an event from all sides is important. when people use misleading quotes/headlines, call it out if you know for a fact it's misleading or flat out lies. Blood libels are still very much real, and the """"progressives"""" will use them, call it out, and don't stay silent when you see a lie moving around (like that user who posted abt at Azchar and et turned out to be get another Hamas lie. The user corrected the post but it already way too late, and people did 0 fact checking because Twitter is the source of all truths apparently).
tl;dr:
1. Safety first. stay safe and try avoiding anything that may harm you. Your safety >>>
2. Don't forget your ancestral connection to the land of Israel and thus to Israel itself. Converts, you may have less of an ancestral connection, but yours is a connection nonetheless; do show understanding when Jews speak of their historical oppression throughout the world. Even generations later, some memories are alive within us, in our very genes it seems.
3. Call out blood libels and the likes, if you can do so.
4. seperate antisemitism and Israel in the sense of acknowledging antisemitism predated israel, not just in Europe.
5. don't call Ashkenazim eastern European Jews "white Jews", ethnic Jews are not white, and while ashkenazim in Israel might have few similarities to whites in western countries, calling them such 1. ignores the fact that the majority of Jewish holocaust victims were murdered exactly because they weren't white; 2. oversimplifies a much more complex situation ento two groups, when in reality it's much more dynamic and ever-changing; and 3., completely disregards the way Jews were treated in the Soviet Union, its Tsaric predecessor, and its Republican successsors.
sary for the length, have an amazing day both of you!♡
how can we help Israel from abroad? i don't qualify as mahal.
Hiii! Ahhh! I thought I posted this but found it in my drafts today. I was a bit tired when I wrote this so if it isn’t super eloquent, apologies in advance.
So for Jews that want to remain in the diaspora:
((The you I’m referring to is an informal *all Jews in the diaspora that this may apply to*…not you, the sweet human who took the time to ask me such a wonderful question))
Religious or Secular - all diaspora Jews need to stop separating themselves from Israel. What you are saying when you say that you’re a Jew but you don’t support Israel is that you don’t understand Israel. You don’t understand how important this place is to your existence. At the very least, if your comfort is so important to you that you’d prefer to preserve it even if it means encouraging hateful rhetoric — don’t say anything. Don’t denounce Zionism. Don’t denounce Israel.
It’s okay if you’re not an expert on Israel. No one is! Just because you’re a Jew doesn’t mean you can’t afford to educate yourself. Jews are just as responsible to be doing research, comparing sources, etc. And until you’ve taken sufficient time to learn all you don’t know, just be a little less bold in your poorly informed opinions. Again: don’t denounce Zionism, don’t denounce Israel.
Your words matter. And when your language is negative toward Israel (because your opinions are not at all based in fact and you too have fallen victim to the western propaganda that makes Israel seem evil) it emboldens antisemites. If Jews can’t respect other Jews, why should anyone respect Jews? If Jews are calling out other Jews then anti-Jewish bigots feel that their hatred is valid.
Similarly! Being educated on Israel and Zionism and the magick of being a Jew is powerful! If you’ve educated yourself and you still don’t want to move to Israel? You don’t love the Israeli government? Cool! Who cares! You can be a proud, informed Jew from anywhere in the world and a proud, informed Jew should support the state of Israel and what it means to the Jewish people. Don’t be afraid (you can be afraid, you just can’t let that fear dictate your actions) to share those opinions with the world. They want us to be silent and we will not be silent.
Don’t cave to the pressure of a Xtian dominated world. If you’re a Jew and you like being a Jew then you’re worthy of taking up space where that can be displayed. And that space deserves to be safe. Wear your Magen David, your Hamza, your chai. Wear your kippah and your tichel. Speak Hebrew. Speak Yiddish. Go to shul. Eat kosher. Do all of the Jew things without shame!! So much of our history has been about minimizing our existence to make gentiles more comfortable. We need to change that. It is owed to us for that to change. We are worthy of a different, more Jew friendly world.
Stand up for the orthodox community in the diaspora! We really don’t think about it much in Israel. Jews are Jews and we don’t care how you observe. In the diaspora, the orthodox communities are much more visible and in general people are scared by what they don’t understand, leaving minorities like the orthodox community vulnerable. There’s so much bravery in quite literally wearing your faith so openly. In a way, the orthodox communities in the diaspora are doing the heavy lifting just by existing. They’re being unapologetic in their faith. And they’re not compromising no matter how difficult that can be in a goy world. The least you can do is show them support - protect them, defend them.
I’m sure there are key things I’m missing. Basically I think the best way to combat hate and spread awareness is education. Diaspora Jews need educate themselves so they can then educate others. Antisemitism will never go away. We are such a small portion of the world’s population (less than 0.2%!!!!!). The least we can do is ensure that Jews are supporting Jews.
As usual, anyone in the Tribe that wants to add on to this, please do!

I need diaspora Jews to read this once and then read it again. And as a reminder: you can hate Zionism all you want - Israel will still protect you when you find it’s the only place you can truly feel safe. We will stand up for you even though you refused to stand up for us.

In honor of the event, the company examined the three most-searched words in Israel in the past 15 years. The outbreak of the coronavirus led to the word "corona" being in first place — even though it has only been a part of our lives for a year and a half.
It turns out that Israeli are deeply interested in banking securities, since in second place, quite surprisingly, is the word "stock." It also turns out that over the years Israelis were not satisfied with brainteasers in the daily papers, as "crossword puzzle" [one word in Hebrew] took third place.

אל תשכחו את הנסיך המכוער הזה (לא טיודור, הבסבורג), שהיה כל כך דפוק גנטית שאפילו עוברים לא רצו להתקיים ממנו. התחתן פעמיים ולא היו לו ילדים.
Charles was the only surviving son of Mariana of Austria (1634–1696) and Philip IV of Spain (1605–1665) who was 56 years old at the time of his son's birth. European nobility commonly married within the same extended family to retain property, although the Spanish Habsburgs were unusual only in the extent. Of eleven marriages contracted between 1450 and 1661, the vast majority contained some element of Consanguinity, while Philip and Mariana were one of two between uncle and niece.[3]
A consequence of such inbreeding is the 'Habsburg jaw', a physical characteristic shared by many Habsburgs, including Charles. The extent to which this inbreeding was responsible for his numerous health issues is unclear, and disputed; Margaret Theresa, his elder sister, did not have the same issues. Based on contemporary accounts of his symptoms, he may have suffered from combined pituitary hormone deficiency and distal renal tubular acidosis.[4]
These conditions could be indicative of rare genetic disorders, possibly caused by inbreeding.[5] However, in the absence of genetic material such claims remain speculative; a 2019 study by the same team on the Habsburg jaw, based on analysis of portraits, could only conclude a genetic link was 'highly likely'.[6] One suggestion is his health problems derived from a herpetic infection shortly after birth, while his autopsy report indicates hydrocephalus.[7]
Historians Will and Ariel Durant famously described him as "short, lame, epileptic, senile and completely bald before 35, always on the verge of death but repeatedly baffling Christendom by continuing to live."[8] By the age of six, he had survived attacks of measles, chickenpox, rubella, and smallpox, any one of which was then a potentially fatal disease.[9] His Habsburg jaw was so pronounced that he spoke and ate only with difficulty, and did not learn to talk until the age of four. However, it was Mariana who insisted he be carried everywhere until he was eight, and left uneducated, allegedly to reduce the 'strain' on his body and mind. Although prone to illness, contemporaries reported he spent much of his time hunting.[10]
Very little is known for certain, and much of what is suggested either unproved, or incorrect. One often cited example used to illustrate his mental problems is the allegation he slept with his father's body; while true, it was done under instructions from Mariana, whose doctors advised this would help him produce an heir. Although reputedly prone to bouts of depression, reports from his council and foreign observers including the French ambassador, Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Marquess of Torcy, suggest his mental capacities remained intact.[11]
