Adena: Tal-Rho (aka Morgan Edge). I met him after hoping through one of my portals to escape my arranged wedding to Ares. Vows unsaid; cares thrown to the wind. I wasn't planning a thing.

Dio: *mumbles quietly* Yep. And ditching us all back at home in the process.

Adena: *didn't hear that* We weren't even planning to elope. I just happened to come across him by accidently opening a portal into his prison cell and we just got to chatting. We got along really well.

Adena: It just didn't work out.... We both wanted to have more kids. I love my two oldest, believe me. I just... I wanted to share the joy of raising our children with him and he wanted that too. By the time we had run away together, Dionysus and Persephone were already growing up so quickly. So, figuring out that Hera had cursed me to not be able to have any more living kids while he and I were married... it devastated us. We tried to make it work, but I couldn't stand how miserable we both were. I said this already, but I really didn't think I could have kids even after ending the marriage. So, when I gave birth to the twins... as much as I am so glad to have them... part of my heart shattered just a little bit more.

What do you think about mortals? Would you ever fall in love with one?

Adena: As in full on humans? I mean, you can't help who you fall in love with, especially with deities that will mess with your head. Even so, I'd prefer to keep my heart guarded around mortals that would be at higher risk of being physically harmed by accident by my magic or getting used as leverage by people who decide that I'm a threat for whatever reason. My life is chaotic. I'm protective enough of my kids, and I consider them mortal enough to be constantly concerned.

Do you have familiars? Any pets?

Adena: Pets! Yes! I love my beloved pets. I have two pets that were gifts from Hermes. My first one is my wolf. I was ten years old and named her Flame, don't judge.

Dio: That wolf is definitely not a mortal wolf. I mean, what sort of life expectancy does an average wolf ha-

Per: Wow Dio, way to make it go dark in a second.

Adena: Alright kids, that's enough. Let's move on. Hermes also gave me a snake that came from Martha and George's shed skin, something that he mentioned that they rarely ever do. Most of the time she's chilling on my wrist as a bracelet. She can also turn into celestial bronze weaponry, specifically a poisonous dagger.

Is there a double hell? Do you believe in reincarnation?

Adena: A double hell? I mean, probably in some of these universes that I've been hopping into. Or one that I haven't explored yet. The universe that I was born into has a complex and diverse afterlife that doesn't just subscribe towards sending mortals to our Underworld. As for reincarnation, our Underworld has a reincarnation system. Mostly demigods utilize this path, but some mortals give it a shot for their afterlife if they want to leave a deep mark in the world.

do you have any powers?

Adena: Do I?

Dio: *rolls eyes* Here we go.

Per: Oh, let her have her fun with it, she loves to show off.

Adena: Right, so anyway. Let's go over the shit that I can't do very well, and I don't really bother working with that often at this point as a result. Like any child of Hades, I can shadow travel. However, I suck at it. Never ending up where I'm trying to go and ending up passing out the second that I get where I'm going. Once I passed out while in the shadows. I was so disoriented when I woke up that I was horrified.

Per and Dio: *staring at their mother quietly, having not been told that before*

Adena: *sits there quietly for a moment while she processes past trauma once more*

Adena: Anyhow! I can also manipulate precious metals and rocks! Like, if I do it too often or in abundance I get nose bleeds, headaches, or even pass out, but I can do that.... So, I don't do that too often either because the side effects are lame and precious metals and rocks can be a pain to locate in sparse areas, but it can come in handy for a quick buck or weapon when needed!

Adena: As the Princess of the Underworld and a child of Hades, I also have influence over the dead. Primarily I can control skeletons and summon spirits. It takes a lot of energy to control a soul that has a will of their own, and zombies are not my forte.

Dio: Wait, can't Uncle Nico control zombies?

Per: Pretty sure.

Adena: Whatever. I have way cooler shit going on. I don't need to go around bringing the dead back and messing with the laws of nature. (internally: Why can the goth boy bring back our sister from the dead while I'm stuck with whiny ghosts and skeletons that have legit no personality?)

*meanwhile elsewhere*

Nico: *suddenly having an uneasy feeling*

Adena: Moving on! My primary forte is fire. I am immune to its mortal effects of burning and I've had to wear fireproof clothing my whole life because I have had fire manipulation powers since I was a small child. I can even teleport through flame. My blood was always liquid flame rather than being primarily water like most mortals and demigods. Honestly, I got pretty lucky at appearing so mortal with how odd my chemistry has always been.

Per: Oh, mom, don't forget about the other thing!

Adena: *was prepared to end the conversation* Huh? Oh right! The power I earned when being granted the title of Goddess. It grants me the ability to travel freely through to different universes at will through my own portals, without having to rely on outside assistance. I can also grant other people this privilege on a limited basis, though they usually have to perform a great trial of some sort because that is The Way of Things or whatever. The fates would kick my butt if I just gave that to anyone outside of a free portal to my kids for visitation purposes and the like. If I had it my way, a coffee tossed in the flames with a message sent my way to supply my caffeine addiction would be enough.

What are you afraid of?

Adena: In general? Furies... not proud to admit that. They are my father's top guards and loyal. But they scare the crap out of me. Oh, and water. For my entire mortal life, I couldn't go near the stuff. Still don't trust the shit now.

Whats your hometown?

Adena:

Adena (con.): Like, aside from the Underworld? Were you paying attention to anything I said earlier?

Per: Mom, you can be less harsh! Maybe they just got here.

Adena: Yeah, well, I don't know exactly where I was born on the mortal plane, but I was left in the capable hands of Charon pretty quickly for my own safety and raised in the Underworld since I was a baby.

Dio: Wait, did Grams not tell you where you were born after you met?

Adena: More like, she couldn't remember which friend she was staying with when she had me. Couch surfing from demigod to demigod residence as a young adult was probably a wild ride. Especially with her free spirit lifestyle.

Per: Did she know that she was a demigod by that point?

Adena: By the time I was born, yes. Her scent had never been incredibly potent throughout her own lifetime until she got pregnant. She said she started getting into trouble with monsters after her first trimester and that's when her mother, your great-grandmother, came clean. Yeah... imagine that convo once the topic shifted to who grandpa is.

Dio: Lack of DNA aside, this family is still way too weird.

what was your childhood like? What did you want to be when you grew up.

Adena: Skeleton nannies and tutoring sessions with dead geniuses' made up my childhood. I was raised as the Princess of the Underworld, so I didn't really have much in the way of other than what was put in front of me. Mortals wouldn't really call my childhood 'normal'.

Per: Even I wouldn't call your childhood normal, mom. And mine wasn't much different.

Adena: Yeah, well, I am glad that you at least had camp to go to. As you and Dio got older, I felt it was safer to take you with me to other universes to see the sights and experience new things.

Dio: We get it mom, but the question was about your childhood, not ours.

Adena: Right! Well, not a lot of people in the fam knew that I existed, so my childhood was strictly based in the Underworld after I was born. My parents, of course, knew about me. Grammy Demeter knew and was pissed at first, but mommy talked her down by the time I was walking. Hermes figured it out at some point, but he was super chill and we always got along so well. He and I have been through a lot as friends/cousins.

Adena: What? They asked! Anyway, yeah. My first kid's dad is a serious ego bro, I never even told him that I was pregnant after finding out just how crazy he could get.

Adena: My second kid's dad is way more chill by comparison. Another casual fling, but it ended on way better terms. He is super in love with someone else. They are even married now! My girl has an awesome half-sister that she gets to visit along with her father and step-mother whenever she feels like it.

Per: It's alright. Dad can be a bit clingy sometimes. "Making up for lost time" or whatever. I keep trying to tell him it's cool, but he worries.

Adena: I keep telling him that he's doing great as a dad. Definitely was better at handling the flying lessons then I ever was. Wow, were Per-Per's toddler years a nightmare!

Adena: Last but not least, the twins. Surprise children I didn't even know I could have after Hera had cursed me for ditching her arrange marriage to Ares for eloping with another man, but here we are. One divorce and alcohol-filled-pity-fuck later, and I've got me two half god half imp kids with a pansexual dumpster fire of a demon who's in denial of his feelings for a new friend of mine. Said friend, of course, happens to be letting me sleep in one of his guest rooms. Yeah... let's not tell my rent-free landlord that last bit please.

Dio: Yeah, I'm sure they'll love to be described like that when they are older.

Adena: Hey! Watch the attitude. And who cares how they were made? I love each of you, even if one of you *looks at Dio* keeps acting like I ruined his life by entering the room like some kind of punk.

This blog will feature my original character Princess Adena of the Underworld. Ask her questions to discover her lore and develop her character development and maybe even help me get my creative energy going along the way?

We can start off with some bare bones basic for her background that you can go ahead and ask about.

Adena is a multi-fandom-universe traveler, which has its own story behind it.

She was born Princess to the Underworld as the daughter of Hades and step-daughter of Persephone (PJO universe). At the time of this blog, she is a grown adult with four children, her oldest two from completely separate fathers and a set of twins from one more father each from a separate fandom universe that Adena has met on her travels.
