Top: Aldo Chaparro Re-Thinking Carl Andre's TRABUM (1977), 2015 Bottom: Carl Andre (artsy) Trabum (Element Series) - conceived 1960 (executed 1977) Can’t say that I care too much for any of Aldo’s other works that I researched but this one caught my eye in the gallery and was the only piece by him at this booth. I suppose the reason I uniquely like this piece of Aldo’s and not any of his others because it’s based off / an appropriated derivative of another (better) artist’s work; Carl Andre, who I can get down with. That said, I am including Aldo’s piece here because it is visually appealing. However seeing that Aldo doesn’t have any consistency to this piece, lacks depth in his other work and, seems to be solely riding the appropriated aspects of this piece- I’m not a fan of Aldo Chaparro.

French artist and photographer Georges Rousse b. 1947, creates compositions evocative of John Baldessari pieces. What makes Rousse work especially badass and mind bending is that all of what you see is done in the physical space by the artists—there is no significant post processing on the images. You are looking at a photograph of the space as-is from a specific angle. Works in order of appearance: Montferrand Guise Barcelone Chasse-sur-Rhone Uzes Reims

Peter Krauskopf Various titles
I couldn’t find professional photographs of these works so this is my snap from the fair. I actually don’t really like much of his newer work or what I could find on the internet. I just like this set. The hyper saturated, bright colors, neons and texture created an interesting punch and depth I don’t see in the other work I’ve found.
