bokuaka au where bokuto is akaashi's physics TA (i 🫶 smart bokuto)
akaashi's struggling so bad bc wtf even is angular velocity vs angular speed!!! he goes to lecture and his professor talks wayyy too fast and its so hard to keep up
why he decided to take calculus-based physics despite pursuing a literature degree is beyond him. (his friends, and literally everyone else he meets tells him that he might be clinically insane. this may be true.)
but he convinces himself that it's all worth it bc he's fulfilling grad requirements AND, for a grand total of 50 mins a week, his required supplementary classes are led by the most attractive boy he's ever seen in his entire life. (konoha-senpai calls him a simp. akaashi will never admit to konoha, or even himself, that he is right.)
the TA (bokuto) who leads the class is so nice and so helpful, he stays to make sure everyone understands how to do the practice problems well after the class is supposed to have ended.
sure, akaashi thought he was a bit odd at first--his hair, the way it sticks up and its black and white streaks, and his voice louder and deeper than he'd expected. luckily for akaashi, he soon came to realize it was all part of bokuto's charm!
it's definitely a plus that bokuto's just so smart and it seems so effortless. he knows exactly how to explain the problem in a simple way, and for some reason, it just makes so much more sense than akaashi's lecture notes. who said intelligence isnt sexy!!!! (it gets akaashi all hot and bothered just thinking about it.)
sakusa kiyoomi, who is on the school's men's volleyball team, informs akaashi that bokuto is also happens to be on the team. he tells akaashi that bokuto is definitely Not Sexy. judging by sakusa's taste in men (read: miya atsumu), akaashi decides that sakusa is Wrong.
and it doesnt help at all, with the way bokuto is aboslutely Ripped. akaashi didnt notice at first bc bokuto would always come in hoodies and baggy awestshirts. but the day bokuto comes in wearing the tightest shirt that clings to his chest and shows off his chest and biceps, akaashi swears he's seen heaven. like who said physics majors can’t be beefy little guys that have you drooling in your seat when you’re supposed to be drawing force diagrams?
as an academic driven by good grades and maintaining a high GPA, it is pointless to be disteacted by such trivial things. but that doesn't stop akaashi from watching bokuto's back muscles shift under his shirt as he writes on the board.
sue him if his eyes wander a little too far down into dangerous territory--bokuto has a great ass.
bokuto's eyes are the most striking akaashi has ever seen. theyre gold flecked with a chocolatey brown that akaashi could stare at forever...... wait, what did he just say about conservation of energy?
and when he smiles (which he does A LOT), akaashi just wants to melt into the floor, its honestly a little embarrassing. if he was genetically indisposed to blushing, he'd be clocked on the spot. is it normal to be this down bad for a TA??? bokuto's dimples have akaashi internally slamming his head into the desk.
and its like,,, maybe akaashi's delusional, but how can he not be when bokuto smiles at him, and looks at him like that...
akaashi never really understood why people hook up with their TA's just to get the grade, but now... he may understand it a little bc DAMN does he want bokuto so bad. and its not even FOR the grade, he's just so helplessly gay for this one dude that lights up every room he enters.
and if akaashi books tutoring sessions SPECIFICALLY to see bokuto, that's no one's business but his. (okay, but he actually needs help. like wtf is rotational inertia!!! wtf is the right hand rule!!!) (he's failing physics.) (he got a 60% on the first exam.) (and that was WITH the curve...)
#haikyuu#hq#bokuto koutarou#akaashi keiji#bokuaka#bkak#bokuto is a NERD but its okay bc akaashi is into that#its me i am akaashi

“I fuckin’ love you, Kiyoomi!” Atsumu’s voice cracks and Kiyoomi can hardly bring himself to watch the tears form in his eyes.
“I thought you said that you’d never fall in love,” Kiyoomi replies evenly, cooly, nonchalantly. But he’s panicking. His heart is beating hard enough to hurt, his own eyes start prickling with tears. His entire body is screaming at him to break down, to run away, to tear himself away from Miya Atsumu.
“I know what I said, dipshit. But that was before I knew what it was ta actually love someone, not just volleyball, or my family—before I knew what it was like to love you.” Atsumu’s voice shakes with sobs and Kiyoomi wants nothing more than to stop it. “It fuckin' sucks, did ya know that? Because I’ve grown to love ya, more than anything, more than volleyball, and that’s fuckin' terrifying because I’ve never loved anything or anyone more.”
If Kiyoomi were a stronger man, he would have stopped Atsumu there. He shouldn’t have let Atsumu dig himself a comfortable little nook in his life. He shouldn't have let himself become so smitten with a boy he once despised. But seeing Atsumu cry, seeing his tear-stained cheeks and blotchy skin, Kiyoomi has never been weaker.
“I’ve devoted almost my entire life to this goddamn sport,” Atsumu spits, “and in these last couple years, I realized I’ve devoted a whole lotta myself to you. Do ya know how fuckin’ scary that is?”
Kiyoomi knew. He knows. The only thing he’s been undyingly loyal to was volleyball. He’d spent everything he had in an attempt to reach the top—he’s never wanted anything more. Until Atsumu showed up and flipped his priorities upside down.
It was subtle. Kiyoomi himself hadn’t even noticed until it became too large, too obvious, to ignore any longer. At some point, Atsumu grew to be someone Kiyoomi could trust, someone he could rely on. And despite Kiyoomi’s distaste for loud and brash personalities, despite his aversion to smarmy smiles and cocksure attitudes, Atsumu found a way to make those traits endearing.
It’s his confidence and the way he’s always able to follow through that Kiyoomi has never been able to disregard. Somewhere along the way, his mere acquiescence with Atsumu grew into a twisted sort of admiration, and in turn, that admiration evolved into something else. It was more than his captivation with Ushijima Wakatoshi, more than his adolescent fling with Iizuna Tsukasa. This relationship--or whatever it's called--has been more than every other one of his failed relationships or any of his pitiful one-night stands.
From Kiyoomi’s twenty-year relationship with volleyball bloomed a reluctant sort of love. Of course, that’s just how it is with something you surround yourself with, with something you devote yourself to. Just like he’s come to love volleyball—the exhilaration, the tension, the victories, even the pain—he’s grown to love a boy who shares the same passion for the sport he can no longer imagine his life without. And he's never been more afraid in his entire life.
“Are ya even listenin’ to me, Omi?” Atsumu’s breaths come out uneven and heavy. “Fuckin’ say something! Don’t just stare at me with that goddamn blank expression!”
“I’m sorry, Miya,” Kiyoomi tries to say. “I—”
Atsumu cuts him off. “Don’t even finish that sentence, Sakusa.” His eyes may be filled with tears, but the expression behind them is stony and resolute. “You don’t get ta apologize. You don’t get ta leave. I know yer scared, Omi, I am too. But I’m not gonna pussy out and run away—ya already tried that, and look at where it got us. We’re back in the same damn situation. Square fuckin’ one.” He lets out a bitter laugh. “Somehow, we’re always back at square one.”

i enjoyed gotham knights! i mean like it was a little silly at times and did not at all impress me away with the turner/duela romantic side-plot, but as a show for teenagers (which i assume is the target audience), i thought it was very entertaining.
i also appreciated the diversity within the characters' and the cast's genders and sexualities. i think it is important for queer and trans characters to appear in movies and television in order for people to feel more represented rather than as a 'token' character, you feel me? and even if i think that that one scene of cullen exercising shirtless was a little silly (just because it was there to show off tyler's top surgery scars), i am glad for that representation.
but i also want to be totally honest, the whole time i spent binging the show i was multitasking by doing a paint-by-the-number thing, so i lowkey don’t know what most of the characters look like. like the only faces i know are duela, carrie, harper, cullen, and harvey. that being said, when i looked up the cast earlier, i was very surprised to see that many of the characters did not look at all how i pictured them!
i am a little disappointed that it was canceled and i hope that some day it may be picked up again to tell the rest of the story.

there is something inside of me that feels so strongly for a man, who was born to always play his role, and an angel, who was created to follow orders blindly, who put the entire fucking multiverse in constant danger because they defied their purposes and loved each other so fiercely
happy destiel confession day!

real shit, the winchesters was (is?) actually a good show!!!
i’m going to be honest, the first time i tried to watch it, i stopped because i didnt vibe with it BUT!! separating it from supernatural (2005-2020), as a standalone, its pretty good!
like its your average teen supernatural drama, much like teen wolf or vampire diaries (ive watched neither but i assume its about the same) (pls don’t come after me).
i think that people who start watching it with the entirety of supernatural contextualizing it are going to not like it because they go into it thinking its going to be a real prequel, but its not!!
and i really appreciate that jackles made that change because it expands on what we know the supernatural multi-verse to be. and it allows these characters who we already know to grow even more and in directions we never really even thought of. like, because this is set in an alternate universe, the idea of mary campbell and john winchester extends beyond the confines and standards to which we hold them to.
and like,, idk i really like that.
i do wish that it could have been saved and i do hope that one day it will be picked up again because i know there is a good and strong story yet to be told for these new characters

basically i don’t think they fucked up jamie’s ending (with his dad). a bunch of people on twt and tumblr mention how jamie can’t really just go and sit in a room with his quote-unquote abuser and expect everyone to just be okay with it. but like! bro was literally in rehab.
and okay yes, rehab doesn’t automatically fix a person right away. but i don’t think it was a ‘oh lets throw this guy in rehab for plot conveniece for the end.’ i think the writers of the show add in these little details deliberately. you know how one of the biggest themes of the show is recognizing bad behavior and changing for the better. hell, we see so many characters go through this arc.
jamie was kind of an asshole too in season 1. like he bullied nate and sam and got isaac and colin in on it as well, like if we’re going to talk shit about jamie’s dad being a dick, then why don’t we talk about season 1 jamie, colin, and isaac? is it because they end up changing their behavior and end up being football himbos that we know and love?
note that we had three whole seasons dedicated to focusing on these boys’ lives on and off the pitch. we got to see their relationships with themselves and each other over the last three years. but this us a show about football, not drunk dads who end up going to rehab.
so maybe jamie’s dad didn’t get that humanizing reformation arc on screen, but that doesnt mean he didnt get it yknow.
