But I am committed to showing more of my actual life in 2020 (including all the fast food I eat.) 🍟 About six months ago, I learned about #uxdesign and quickly found that UX is so helpful for any sort of design - organizational, product, service, website, information sharing - anything! 🤓 I found these books on @amazon covering all aspects on #ux. Despite the inexplicable animals on the cover, they are so helpful and really easy and enjoyable to read. They’re written in a very personal tone from a genuine persons POV. (Not like a generic professorial tone). 👩‍🏫 I highly recommend these books if you’re interested in learning more about UX. Side note: probably best for beginners. I also have the “UX strategy” book from this publisher. 20 Goals for 2020: 1. Write more. 2. Make writing funnier. 3. Do something with all of my writing scattered throughout dozens of notebooks and word docs. 4. Shift away from content strategy services and focus on what I really love - writing personal essays. 5. Monetize blog. 6. Write a one woman show. 7. Catch up on bills. 8. Not drink on weeknights. 9. Find a desire to meet friends. 10. Find a desire to date. Or at least have a crush on someone. 11. Yoga. 12. Less TV. Or at least watch new stuff. 13. Create a schedule and to do list for each day and stick to it. 14. Read more. 15. Drink more water. 16. Day trips to pretty places in Colorado with Daphne. 17. Find a therapist in Denver. 18. Continue taking meds and skincare regimen. 19. Do what feels right. Not what I think I have to do because others are doing it. 20. Be kind to myself. . Sometimes the perfect Christmas Eve is driving 3 hours round trip to soak in a mineral tub with gorgeous views of the mountains. Honey, let me impart some wisdom on you: Success can be defined by you and your values. Your life and your business does not have to be determined by capitalism. Not everyone identifies as a boss babe. And you don’t have to make six figures to be winning. You can define success however you want. For me, right now, it’s about the content I am putting out. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was enlightened to this when a friend reminded me how much content I’ve put out in the last year and a half. For my self, business, and clients. Between blog posts, branding, Instagram, copywriting and photography - I’ve put out a lot of beautiful work. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Two years ago, I wasn’t putting anything out. And I never thought it possible. You can tell a lot about what your friends think of you based on the posts they send you. I get a lot of these kinds of posts. I also get a lot of funny, bawdy ones about dating and sex because duh 💋 I got this one yesterday from @britpark_. And I’m very lucky I get these messages. I’m even luckier to have these friends in my life (and their moms, hey hazel!). 🤗 They’re all 2,000-3,000 miles away from me but they help me stay grounded in my pursuit of love and connection. I am so proud of this mama today! I am always inspired @jac.dryden. Because she 1. Looks like the same Italian princess she was in high school 2. She is an extremely talented artist, with a unique point of view, and her own style and aesthetic 3. She makes me laugh constantly and she’s fun as fuck (see photo) 4. She is unconditionally kind and loving 5. She is vulnerable and strong as all hell. But today I am proud of her because she did something so hard and she was so brave! I am so lucky to have her in my life. And I’m grateful to be next to her side (2,000 miles away) as we both do scary adult things.
