It was! All the twists and turns and pains and love! Ahhhh it was so good! I had read it all the way to when Uzi went to GlitchCon and got cold feet in her attempt to reach N. There weren’t any other chapters after that then. I just checked and I think there’s another chapter now!!!!!

i don’t visit r/trans much but i have heard about the anti-transmasc discourse and im absolutely appalled. shit like this sets the movement back, and if you’re unwilling to see that we don’t claim you. trans men are men, and they are just as valid as trans women and everyone else beyond the binary.

in all seriousness it's very alienating knowing theres Something Wrong With You. like seeing your mental illness come through in your behaviour and thought processes and knowing it's irrational and unhealthy, knowing other people are reading you as weird or stupid, and not being able to do anything about it is such a lonely experience

An example of how “explaining the ‘obvious’” can lead to better examination of a work of art, that I talked about here: https://www.tumblr.com/alissunknown/792433058443902976/i-disagree-but-im-also-a-spell-out-the-obvious
There are countless reasons I absolutely ADORE the Gangle and Zooble's heart-to-heart in episode 6, and this moment stands out to me the most because of all the subtle details that add to their characters and the emotional impact of this whole scene.
If you look closely, you'll notice that Zooble's hand lowers after Gangle asks if they had to make the choice to love themselves, too. This isn't because they suddenly aren't eager to help Gangle, but because hearing about her anxieties and struggles (and the question she posed to them) brought up their own anxieties and struggles. Thus, their hand lowers because they doubt they can overcome their struggles, and if they can't overcome their own struggles, how can they possibly help Gangle with hers?
So when Gangle takes their hand, it snaps them out of whatever state of doubt and worry they were in, representing how being together will finally give them both the strength and courage they need to overcome the similar hardships they face!
It's little details like this that really make this one of the best scenes in the whole series (and objectively speaking the best Abstragedy scene in the entire show)!

I disagree, but I’m also a “spell out the obvious essayist” believer. I like essays that “say the ‘obvious’ thing,” because as much as people wanna say it’s “obvious,” for some it isn’t that “obvious” until it’s more cleanly spelled out. AND THEN from that detailing of the “obvious,” for which brings everyone onto the same page of discussion, allows for describing more complex things. I’ve seen a lot of discussions where people skip the “obvious” and go straight into the more complex stuff, only for people to disagree and never reach a conclusion, just to later see them to circle back and realize that they had different interpretations and understandings of what “obvious” is. I mean this conversation is probably gonna be an example of that because my philosophy is, as I mentioned, “state the obvious, then the complex stuff,” and it’s also other shit like, “make ‘bad’ art idgaf. ‘Good’ art is a lie, there’s no such thing. Art is subjective!” Yadda yadda all that biz. And that has brought a lot of contention between the people I talk to about art who aren’t on the same page as me, until I point this out and we both realize “ah we want different things out of art.” And then from there we can reach some more actual discussion, or just go our merry ways.
you know wouldn't it make for much more compelling story if Goose let us come to this conclusion ourselves rather than holding our hands and spelling it out for us like we're five

I say all this, but you’re still allowed to be bothered by the reveal anyway. (And I say “allowed” but it’s not me “allowing” you, you already have it, I just wanted to remind you you’re absolutely free to disagree with me. As an autistic person it feels like whenever I state a thing I believe in or am just thinking about, others see it as me shutting down their beliefs or ideas :(. So I’m just making it clear so that there’s none of that potential misunderstanding).

Idk. “Cain isn’t a evil boy, he just a bad boy” doesn’t feel all that big of a “spoiler” to me, like I don’t think that said idea is gonna get some entire stand alone episode to unpack, nor do I think it’s gonna be “revealed” and the characters are gonna gasp at it. I think it’s kinda already hinted at and Gooseworx is just confirming what we already knew at this point.

Eh, idk. It’s whatever really. You could only get this information if you followed their twitter during this time. Art creators are prone to just info dumping everything they know about the art they created, and I’d be no different if I made something as big as TADC tbh (not saying TADC is anything uniquely big compared to every other story out there, just that I’ve never made any story as big as it, I always move to another project before finishing my current ones 😅).

Damn, ya hate to see it.
Also, why does this sound like the plot of some shitty action movie that’s also extremely racist that gen z parents love but their gen z kids grows up realizing just how fucked up this movie actually is.

I am caught between wanting to confront toxic male ideas towards sex, whilst not reverting to Christian like anti-sex ideals to do so.
It’s almost like Patriarchy consists of multiple conflicting things, and even outright contradictory things, but all of which are oppressive. And opposing such oppression means not going in the radical opposite direction, because Patriarchy literally is that side also.
Like how women are both expected to be dainty fucking flowers, but also a freak in the she sheets. Their liberation doesn’t see them opposing whichever one of these two things Patriarchy chooses to be at one given fucking moment. Their liberation sees them recognizing that both of these things are male centered and that they are neither sexless beings for men nor are sex objects for men.
I don’t say all this as an expert on feminism or what patriarchy is mind you, and I’m certain women are further ahead of me on knowing what about what; but it feels like it needs to be said with the amount of Christian like sexual repression I am seeing expressed in conservative ways, and in liberal sounding ways.
Gah! Things that sound liberal but is really just rebranded conservative-light bullshit pisses me off 😡! I saw on Reddit today of someone using their understanding of “patriarchy” to showcase how fascism comes primarily from the left 🙄. Y’know, the political circle considered the mega authoritarian part of conservatism, “comes from the left, cuz patriarchy.” My first mistake was going on Reddit I guess.
