[officially on hiatus, below is a long explanation but still a tl;dr one.]

[guys... i’m so sorry. i should’ve made this earlier but i didn’t know what was wrong. all i knew was that something felt off even though i thought everything was fine, but it’s not fine. i was catfished several months back, for a year, by more than 10 accounts. i was gullible and just willing to believe anything on good faith. after putting two and two together, i couldn’t believe i let it go on for so long, but i never understood why they did it to me - they didn’t ask for money or inappropriate things, no, they just drained my mental energy and drove me to a breaking point, again and again and again. since i’d never get an answer, why they did all of that, i decided to put it in a corner because... i didn’t know what to do. i thought i’d be okay. turns out, i’m not okay, and that wasn’t a good idea. several things have happened over the course of a few months slowly that chipped away at me, and my wonderful course has triggered a few memories and it’s making me anxious to be on here in the first place. i had a horrible dream where the first one i ‘met’ was standing right next to me, walking down a sunny, downhill road, asking me why i ever thought he was fake, and i remember crying in my dream and apologising to him over and over, waking up feeling strangely... violated. it just tipped everythign for me, i’m not okay, but my counsellor is in school and school is out for the summer. i know i’ll be okay, i just haven’t been and won’t be for a while.]

The medicine actually knocked me out cold for 3 hours the first time I took it, but uses later it was okay. you’re right, the stress made it worse, now that it’s over I don’t feel the stomach aches. [Thank you for also sharing your experience! I hadn’t taken my exam when you sent that because I had just woken up, but I would’ve been grateful if you had sent it late, anyway (*^^*) I normally do my tests like that, I tend to circle the questions I blank out on or feel like I could do better. But, it did make me feel better thinking about it like that, because normally it’s ‘well i’ll agonise over these later’ instead of ‘I’ll have more confidence to do this later!’. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish the whole paper, partially because of time and partially because I didn’t know some, but I found I wasn’t the only one. [I have an exam tomorrow, but I’ve been having stomach aches for 3 weeks due to stress - it’s happened before, and has been so painful that I had to opt out of an exam because i couldn’t stop crying. currently it’s just something that distracts me occasionally, on-and-off, sometimes it’s just barely noticeable, sometimes it’s frustrating. i’ve been to the doctor’s and he’s prescribed me medicine for a week now, but it hasn’t been working, and it’s been getting almost worse because i’ve been getting more and more stressed, so he’s hesitantly suggested i take one of the pills in the evening and the morning. only problem is, he warned me that it might make me sleepy. my exam is in the morning, 8AM. And in general, i fall asleep very easily, and it’s happened in an exam before - sans medication. also happened while standing up, playing bongos in music class when i was little.] [I’ve also been to the counsellor for the stress issues, and sometimes it helps, but I won’t have time to do mindfulness or repeat mantras in my head in the middle of an exam. I mean, it works, but i don’t have the time for that when i’m trying to recall stuff.] [should i take an extra pill to prevent the slight possibility of worse stomach aches but possibly fall asleep in my exam, or should i refrain but possibly get into a worst case scenario with my stomach?]

Occasionally, people asked why she’d spend 10 minutes in the restroom, sometimes 20. Most of the time it was the same old excuse - ‘Stomach problems, sorry…’ - before getting back to work. It wasn’t wholly false, as stomach aches were not uncommon for her, but she spent most of the time in the bathroom curled up on the seat and asleep, catching a very light nap her restless night didn’t allow her to have, then splashing her face with water before she had to head out again. Once and a while, it wasn’t even because she was tired. Sometimes she just wanted a break.

Walking down the hall to the women’s restroom, she stuck to the walls, not wanting to bump into anyone who might pass by. She kept her head straight up, trying to appear awake but trying not to make eye-contact with whoever walked by. But something caught her eye this time, try as she might not to stare.

Oh my god, he has pink sleeves.

She looked down and smiled to herself, a little embarrassed as to how something so insignificant could make her grin.

Just keep walking. If he sees you grinning then he’s going to think you’re crazy, or worse, making fun of him.

Salmon sleeves has alliteration, remember that.    

Walking by him, she caught a whiff of the unpleasant cigarette odour, causing her to turn her head just the slightest towards him before snapping back down.

Keep your head down and your mouth shut, and maybe you won’t be a disgrace.

… Those were cute sleeves, though.

Rounding the corner, she decided to just splash her face with water. She felt awake enough.

She didn’t really know what to expect when she arrived, other than it’ll probably be, hence the pale pink scarf tucked into her bag. She was also prepared for bug bites and scratches, but not so much for a pale-haired girl bounding up to her with a- it looked like rice, but-

   “’Ere ye go, sis! Jus’ a lil’ thing we whipped up ta welcome ye to da village!”

Upon a closer examination, they were little rice balls shaped into panda heads, with little seaweed cutouts on the ears. On one hand, Alys felt bad - for some reason, she felt like she'd feel guilty, taking away something that looked like a lot of care was put into, especially since Alys hadn’t really done anything but… show up. On the other hand… Alys was a little hungry. And had a weakness for adorable food. And people.

… Just accept it.

“A- Ah, thank you!” she stammered, still caught off-guard, eyes wide, cheeks warm but still smiling. “I- I, um, this is such a nice surprise! Would you, er- Would you like to share it with me?” Please don’t sound creepy, please don’t sound creepy, please don’t sound creepy...
