KARMA - kudoichi animatic

another animatic whoopee!! and this is most likely my last video format stuff for a year or so as im unfortunately going to my third year in college and ill be busy ugh

and yes this is inspired by alien stage KARMA by vivinos as well as the music belongs to them so check them out

video footnotes:

heres my favorite sequence!!!

*kudoichi becoming one with the stars, they lay dormant (or asleep) together as they await for the user that’ll success them. i hc that since ofa is 'incomplete' at the time their vestiges was also

*context for the first part is kudou being stressed that afo was closing in on them

*kudou gave his dog tags to yoichi as a way to promise or give him hope that they (yoichi) will survive, that once yoichi makes it to the other end of the tunnel he’d give back the dog tags

** there is an unspoken issue btwn them that yoichi knew he was not going to live long and that he’ll die by his brother’s hand , and kudou knew yoichi felt this way but didnt want to believe in it (even though deep deeppp down he knew he couldnt change yoichi’s fate as much as he tried to) (if u read the comic this is the context)

*yoichi purposely did not say ‘i promise’ back

this is my first time using alight motion so pls be gentle 😭 im still trying to get used to tweening so some parts are awkward …… like maybe the part where yoichi pulls kudou’s spirit out of his body

*also damn AM for its big ass canvas so some if my drawings look cut im sorry😭😭😭😭

*i really wanted to try to tween vestige kudoichi spinning in space as they both get nearer in view before kissing but i wanted to retain my sanity please. thats why i didnt add another frame of them kissing i feel like im gonna get burnout 😭 doesnt help that i know this is going to flop

*also the kiss scene is supposed to be for a CURE animatic but ofc i never got to make it

the flower used in the video is a white chrysanthemums, mostly given during funerals so them blooming on yoichi is to symbolize kudou mourning him (as these are his memories/pov)

a lamented confession

#kudoichi #link is an animatic connected to this comic #yoichi shigaraki #my hero academia #shigaraki yoichi #boku no hero academia #alot of what kudou is saying here comes from a place of intense self loathing & grief so hes possibly an unreliable narrator #but it was true that kudou didnt address what yoichi was doing & while he didnt cause his death there was no closure 2 it. thus the guilt #and yeah i dont think i need to explain why kudou didnt properly talk to yoichi about it (since its in the comic)#but he actually would have eventually. unfortunately as you know they only had 2 months #this is my take on kudoichi being a flawed relationship #i feel like the ship gets glamourized due to its tragic romance aspect #which in turn is romanticized by us #AND THERE ISNT ANY PROBLEM WITH IT OFC LIKE I DO IT MYSELF #but bc of that i feel like there isnt much exploration on the possinle downsides to their relationship #especially with their circumstances i dont think its grouns for a healthy relationship #which not saying its not possible for kdch just that there arent exploration of that aspect #which. again. understandable. we dont know much about kdch in canon and theyre considered a rarepair within the fandom #so not alot of content explores this concept #i feel like a major problem theyd have is the lack of communication #in my interpretation #and i only think itd take place in their universe #but in a completely normal setting theyd be the healthiest of healthy couple #second ofa user #second one for all user #ichinii #mha #kudou toshitsugu #toshitsugu kudo #cw self harm

*both zen & yoichi have cold body temperature, but zen is more colder despite having more body mass

*yoichi has a semi permanent bruise/scar on his wrist by his brother

*zen is disinterested in romance or sexual relations in general and would rather not participate in them unless its something he can exploit

*yoichi is multilingual (i mean kinda canon cus of the 'my hero' thing LOL), and knows JSL and ASL. he also knows morse code. zen is too, but he learned later than yoichi

*they both have twin sense HAHA like if yoichi does something good zen perks up and if zen does something bad yoichi just flinches and sighs

*yoichi has crooked teeth

anon im so sorry that this had been sitting in my inbox for a long while now 😭 i didnt have much ideas so i didnt touch it until i did….. so now i kinda do so here it is!

(this is a normal world au so no quirks)

izuku- TEACHER obviously

toshinori- this one im not completely sure, perhaps a former actor turned coach/teacher

nana- social worker

en- firefighter

daigoro- firefighter (en was his junior)

hikage- either a botanist, farmer or hes still a hermit (im mostly going for the last part. respect the lifestyle!!)

bruce- researcher (as confirmed by canon), most likely science related research like biology

kudou- professor(?), but plans to become a mechanical engineer after he finished his masters

yoichi- this one im the most conflicted so its either: teacher, writer, librarian, nurse, manga artist or lawyer 😭

one of my favorite things ever about this ship is that kudou literally dropped his Leader voice for yoichi. as seen with the speech bubble differences, he made the effort to soften his voice to say goodbye (in his own way) to him 🙁 im not well these two make me SICK.
