Emergency Commissions
Hi y'all, I am coming out of my mental-health-induced hiatus to open emergency commissions for April. I am currently looking for a job where I live, and life events call for extra money. Here's what I offer: sketches - 5 EUR flat color drawing - 20 EUR full color drawing - 30 EUR I will draw anything, with some exceptions - Fetish/Gore/Mecha are a no no, while I will consider Animals/Furry Art/NSFW depending on the request (will also ask for extra money for that). If you want to commission me, my DMs and my art email ([email protected]) are open. If you cannot, I would still be immensely grateful to you if you could share this post. Lastly, Ko-fi tip jar here, in case anyone doesn't have means for a commission but still wants to throw a quarter in my direction. Love y'all, and thanks for all the help. 🙏🏼

2024 Sum up
So, no Artist Wrap-up this year. I basically have been in an artistic rut for a long time now. I hit a wall in 2023 and am still trying to understand how to get my inspiration back. 2024 has been... a year. I am trying to understand how to manage life, trying to have a plan that I am able to follow for more than a few days or weeks, and trying to understand where my priorities are. All this while trying to stop feeling useless, un-aimed, not accomplishing anything, uncommitted, uninspired.
I'd like to transform this blog (or maybe open a new one) into an artistic journal, where I take notes of what is on my mind artistically, what is my process at the moment, where I am mentally and emotionally, what are mistakes that I feel I am making etc.
I'd also like to start making small streams where I try to get back to draw and make studies. Even if I am not joined by anybody, I'd still like to mimic the study calls that my friends and I used to hold during covid, where everyone was focusing on their own thing, together.
That said, we'll see where 2025 will bring us.
Stay strong, be kind.

I think some people get “I approve of this morally” and “I don’t approve of this morally but realistically fighting a crusade against it would cause more harm than good” confused in fandom spaces.
Is there certain types of fanfic I don’t enjoy the existence of? Yes. Do I think going on a tirade against those types of fanfic would cause any type of positive change in the world? No. It would cause more problems for me, my online followers, and fanfic writing as a whole.
Like there’s certain immoral or gross things in this world that going after them causes more tangible harm than the thing itself. That’s also why I’m not specifying which types of fanfic or literature I find morally questionable. Bringing those up would cause a storm about it. People would focus in on that when that’s not the point of this post. I’m not aiming to open old wounds or tell people what kinds of things they should or shouldn’t indulge in if they’re not tangibly harming anyone in a major way. The harm I could potentially cause by inflaming old debates or starting new ones has the potential to be more harmful than the things I don’t like in the first place.

Daily reminder that we do not actually live in a dystopian movie put the apocalypse down and back away slowly. You know when your cleaning a room and you pull everything out of it's draws to sort through it and you're like "what the fuck have I done I'm never going to be able to tidy all of this" I think that's the stage we're at in the world. Thanks to social media we've pulled out all the messed up shit from the cupboards of the world, it was always there but now we can see it and we're going to have to sort it all out we made this mess and we can fix it. Falling to the floor sobbing will not clean a crusty room. A group of people working systematically (preferably with music in the background) will.

Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist). As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.

(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)

👻 2023 #artistwrapped 👻
from last year's trend on twitter (rip). Original template by @/sabattons here - also check out their art, it's amazing!
I feel like this year has been mentally challenging in many different ways, peppered with self-doubt, ADD and a good dose of impostor syndrome. Because yes, why would you feel stuck, unproductive, energy depleted when you have no apparent reason to feel like that at all? :)
Of the projects that I intended to work on, I barely scratched the surface. I tried to get back to writing, and I'm feeling like a middle schooler writing her first fanfiction. Tried, multiple times, to commit to a planning system, to a working routine, to function and plan like an adult, and failed miserably every single time.
How can I hope to have a professional career selling my art if I am not able to do the basic shit to work on what I'm supposedly passionate about?
So 2024 resolution is not have any resolutions whatsoever. I feel like every time I try to give myself a plan, I always self-sabotage and fail. I want to go back to art with a renewed energy. I want to learn new things about colors and composition, but I also want to go back to what worked for me.

I cannot stress this enough:
BUILDING COMMUNITY AND ENGAGEMENT ON TUMBLR IS A TWO-WAY STREET.
Stuck for ideas? Try:
Send asks. It could be anything, even something super basic. Tell someone you like their blog theme or ask them what they think a character's favorite color is. Ask them if they have a secret hobby. Tell them you had an absolute banger of a slice of toast for breakfast. Literally anything. Give them something to talk to you about. You might even make a friend!!
Draw silly little doodles for your favorite piece of fanfic. Literally cannot stress this enough; even stick men art can be adorable and/or hilarious. And I guarantee you it'll make the author's day. A two minute sketch on the notepad app of your phone could genuinely be the reason someone updates their fic, or writes another one.
Write silly little drabbles for your favorite fanart. I used to love this back when I made fanart on my old Tumblr blog. People would reblog it with a silly little 100 word drabble based on the art and I. Would. Swoon. My thing made someone else make a thing!! Amazing!!
Make rec lists. It could be for fanfiction, themed blogs to follow, recipes, movies, anything. Ask people to share theirs. Ask people to give their opinions if they try out something from your list. You wouldn't believe how many of my fanfic bookmarks have come from seeing the blogs I follow recommend something. Because we have the same interests!! Because its even quicker than me scouring hundreds of tags on AO3!!
If someone posts writing or art, ask them questions!! Humans love to be asked things. Especially about things we have made. Ask them what inspired them to make the thing. How long it took them. If they have a favorite thing about it.
Tumblr's engagement and activity levels are not dying because of the website. They're dying because of us. If we're just sat existing in a sad, isolated little bubble, of course we're going to move on to somewhere where we get actual engagement. Where there are other people in the bubble.
We've become so obsessed with an entitlement to receiving and consuming while never actually giving anything back, and that has to die.
"Oh but there's no community for what I like on here."
Make. One.
Tell people about the thing you like. Get them interested. Engage with them about it. Give them a sounding board to share their thoughts and ask questions and create content to enjoy and consume. Make it a discussion and give them something to get involved in.
Find that one other tiny blog screaming into the void about it and scream together!! That's how this website works!!

Did you know? Or did you forget? You can do whatever you want with your art. Put random scribbles wherever. Horizontal lines over your character. Add dots everywhere and on everything. Draw eyes different than the rest of the face. Change art styles halfway through. Cut and glue paper cutouts. Use paints and markers together. Use all the filters. Use photos on top to add texture.
You can do what you want. Like literally literally literally.
Add a rubber ducky in the corner for no reason, put text in different languages on the background, leave your handprints or wipe your fingers on the paper.
Go have fun now this stuff isn't meant to be stressful for you
