I just wanna say: whoever you love, whoever are your blorbos, whichever characters you dream about—you are and always will be 100% welcomed on this blog!! 🫂❤️ I may not always be as enthusiastic about some pairings or fellas as you may be (just like you have no obligation to feel the same about mine!), but plz know that this here’s a safe space wherein all opinions are valid, wanted, and respected. I’d personally (and this really is a personal preference) much rather be involved with a community with varied perspectives and tastes than keep my socializing limited to like-minded folks and flavors. I’m a strong believer that we become more intelligent through understanding different perspectives, and I find that absolutely applies to crazy fun hyperfixations on the internet!!! ❤️
I know this topic can be a toxic swamp for some people, so that’s really why I just wanted to make this clear on my blog in particular <333 So long as you are respectful in how you approach disagreements, you are welcomed here, friendo, and I appreciate your presence! 🫵 🐁💖

gentle reminder that it's literally chill to hate characters. you don't have to have a reason. sometimes it's funny to hate a character for no reason! but the characters you hate someone really really loves. so. be kind to each other yknow?

Cyberpunk 2077 fandom stuff
I'm seriously considering creating a separate Tumblr just for my CP2077 things. I have too damn much I want to share about it even if no one gives a damn. And I see how I've been refraining of doing so cause it kinda feels too contrasting with my BG3 and mushroom obsession stuff (??)
It's just a thought. But a tempting one. If you feel like it, well intentioned advice is welcome in this household.

I'm primarily a self-shipper (as my username illustrates,) but of the few character/character ships I have, most of them are male/female.

I know the genie is out of the bottle and you can't go back but dear GOD I hate the mainstreamification of fandom so much
I do NOT want authors or showrunners or actors to acknowledge us or talk about fanfic or fanart or fan theories! I do NOT want people asking questions of the canon creators and getting them answered (make up your own answers, like god intended!) I do NOT want companies making jokey advertisements aimed toward fandom!
I know that fandom was never entirely underground but like... I miss that fourth wall existing, you know?

The reason I love the Red Hood being a crime lord instead of a vigilante is that Crime Alley, functionally, doesn't have the same problems as the rest of Gotham. Their main problem isn't the mad Rogues running around, it's the cycle of poverty, violence, and crime that they're all stuck in. And you know what one of the main ways to combat this is? Community. Organizing. Working together.
Except Crime Alley can't just choose to do that. Who would choose to join such a risky proposition instead of a gang that you know can help protect your family? So the Red Hood comes in and he looks like he's just creating another gang, the same as all the others.
Except he's serious about not selling drugs to kids or people in danger of overdosing. Except he protects the working girls fiercely, even if it loses him money. Except all the money he does make goes straight into the community if it's not making sure his employees are alright.
Working within the system is often a necessary measure to fix the system. Except the system in the case of Crime Alley isn't the government that abandoned them, it's the volatile, terrible gang set up. So Red Hood didn't just work within the system, he took it over and made it work for him instead.
Is this perfect? No. The other bats have valid disagreements with Jason's way of doing things. But he is doing so much good.

I don't understand this fandom sometimes
Tumblr media
why are people surprised that jax is an idiot if in the first/pilot episode he acts like an asshole? by the way i have no problem with people now hating jax. i just find it funny/weird that people didn't hate him before when he came out in the first episode while he was treating gangle poorly by pushing her.
(BTW PLEASE DON'T HARASS PEOPLE WHO HATE OR LOVE JAX, THIS IS JUST A COMIC MADE FOR FUN).

My absolute favorite trope in LOTR parodies is giving Frodo - because of Elijah Wood - the most gigantic, huge, absolute bluest eyes possible. I love it when the little guy is 80% eyes

the silliest people are the ones who make no content to promote their niche interests but keep complaining about popular characters/ships. you’re lazy and bitter and that’s all there is to it. “no one will interact with it—” someone will. there’s a community out there for everything. take the first step—look at it this way, if someone started posting about this interest of yours, wouldn’t that be great? why don’t you become that person? you are not automatically owed content.

The amount of morons who think fandom is only for women and/or LGBT people have genuinely lost the plot. Anyone can create fiction and anyone can enjoy fiction, you don't need to fit a certain quota of identities to enjoy a fictional story.
boy do I have another spicy fandom take!!
I remember someone say something along the lines of “Fandom was always a celebration of queer neurodivergence” or something like that. While yes, fandom has always had Autistic, LGBT, and Autistic LGBT people inhabiting them. It was less about “identity” and more about skill. You can say the same about the black nerds. In fact, a lot of black people i’ve seen online detest things like race-bending.
This just goes to show that Identity Politics have bred some of the most toxic minds in the past 10-ish years.
Identity politics ruins everything.
It's also funny how the "smash every established norm" people will appeal to tradition and established norms when they benefit them specifically.
