Even though I’m doing an internship at Cas Di Cultura, the last few days I was present at the University of Aruba. This was not without reason. We got the chance to attend a three day training. It was only in the forenoon, so in the afternoon I was present at Cas Di Cultura.

Different entrepreneurs came to speak about their experience in the corporate world. They all had different experiences and it was amazing to hear their own story. It was really interesting and they gave a lot of tips to start our own business. I am very happy that I was able to participate in this training.

Today at my internship, I was a bit in shock and for a good reason. This little guy visited us. The cleaning lady found him in de kitchen and showed it to us. Of course I had to take a picture and post it on my blog.

Gisterenavond was het filmavond bij Cas Di Cultura. Je kon als bezoeker komen kijken naar “Beautiful Losers”. Dit is een heel boeiende documentaire.

Ik vond de film ontzettend interessant. Ik had er echt van genoten. Ook zaten er soms wat grappigere stukjes tussen wat ik wel leuk vond.

This Saturday we have a kids disco at Cas Di Cultura. Today we are making skirts out of trash bags for the children. We decorated them with cool stickers. I hope the kids will like them.

The disco is for children between 2 and 5 years old. Thats why the skirts are very small. We also have a lot of other decorations for the disco.

Lise and I are very excited! This will be our second event. Tomorrow will be our first event. Then it’s movie night at Cas Di Cultura.

Today, at my internship, I got to attend a press conference. Even though I couldn’t understand it, it was very interesting!

Gisteren zijn we met de hele groep naar het nationale park Arikok gegaan. Daar hebben we rondgereden in een pick up truck. Er zaten veel bobbels in de wegen, dit voelde je wel als je achterin de truck zat.

We zijn verschillende keren gestopt om te gaan kijken in grotten of te zwemmen. In deze grotten kon je beschilderingen zien van Indianen en het was er ook zeer mooi of foto’s te trekken.

We hebben daar ook twee keer gezwommen, 1 keer daarvan was in a natural pool (dat is een deeltje zee dat afgezonderd is met stenen en waar het water heel rustig is). Hiervan heb ik geen foto’s want mijn gsm kon ik niet meenemen zonder nat te maken.

Ik heb ook een slang mogen vasthouden. Ik vind slangen hele mooie dieren dus ik was zeer gelukkig zoals je wel kan zien op de foto.

Ik vond dit zeker een geslaagde dag. Dit was tot nu toe het toppunt van heel de buitenlandse stage!

Yesterday, Lise and I started our TikTok project. We made a TikTok account for Cas Di Cultura and posted our first TikTok. We already have 50 likes and 500 views 😱

Our goal is to attract young people. They are the future of Cas Di Cultura!

Today, we went to Baby beach. The weather was a bit cloudy but we still made the best of it. After, we went to “Zee Rover”. They have really delicious food and I enjoyed it a lot! Their view was pretty amazing too!

Aruba

Aruba is a beautiful island with a lot of nature. I am really excited for the white beaches and the good weather. I hope I get a bit tanned when I'm there! I also want to go to de hooiberg. It’s very beautiful in the pictures!

My internship in Aruba

Hi there! 

In less than a week I leave Belgium for three weeks because of my internship in Aruba. I’m going to do an internship at Cas Di Cultura and I’m really excited! 

You can compare Cas Di Cultura with ‘CC De Werft’ in Geel. Cas Di Cultura is a cultural center where local artists start their career and where communities come together. Cas Di Cultura provides customers with a lot of different performances. You can go and watch a music concert, a dance performance and a lot more. You can also rent their spaces. 

Cas Di Cultura also has a podcast you can listen to. I think this is really cool and smart because now costumers can enjoy their work at home. 

As I said earlier, I am really excited for my internship. I think this is an experience that I will never forget. I am very grateful for my teachers and my internship supervisor for this opportunity!
