no but if the 911 writers deliberately decided to not give us a Buddie love confession in their greatest moments (“there’s nobody in this world i trust with my son more than you”, after the well, hospital scene, post-lightning strike kitchen scene, etc.), then the actual scene better be the best fucking scene in tv history or i will srsly have to slap a bitch.

If they missed so many good opportunities then the actual one better be a fucking masterpiece.

He’ll start being so bitchy to and about Tommy and probably won’t even realize until someone points it out and that’ll just trigger a spiral of gay-panic that unleash his need for Buck.

Can’t wait for Eddie to get jealous and upset over not getting to spend enough time with Buck and not have his son to hide behind. When he was mad about the lawsuit, he used Christopher as his shield when he told Buck about how he was feeling. He usually always hides behind Chris and uses him as a shield. Now that Christopher isn’t with them, who is Eddie going to hide behind? Oh the sweet beauty of Eddie finally unleashing that he misses Buck and he needs Buck around and even possibly that he wants Buck will be so lovely.

speaking of the possibilities of how the love confession between buck and eddie would go, i genuinely think buck will have the knowledge that he HAS been in love with his bsf for YEARS for like 48 hours before he finally combusts and tells eddie.

Like i think the roles each of them will have -most realistically and character accurate- are: eddie -thanks to his self discovery journey and endebles sessions with frank- realizes he’s in love with Buck. And has been for fucking ever. Pining ensues where we get to see petty and jealous eddie shine. Then he just decides to live with the fact that he is in love with his bsf til he dies.

THEN there’s Evan Fucking Buckley who will just have the gob smacking realization that he is in live with Eddie Diaz and -in true buck nature- will not be able to act normal. Leading to him probably spilling to maddie and one of two things: 1) he -still in a trance like, dumbfounded state- gods over to eddie’s and just confesses in the most idiotic way possible; or 2) Eddie calls him out on his weird behavior and Buck panics until he spills (or just kisses him).

Truly believe this is like the most natural and in 9-1-1 the love realizations/confession can go.

i’ve seen so many people saying how meaningful it is that Tommy calls Buck Evan instead of Buck. Saying how like Buck doesn’t say anything because it’s like Tommy is knowing this new, improved version of Buck. And he doesn’t know the other “worse” versions of him. Which like, sounds good at first, but here’s the implications of that shit.

1) Your name is your identity. Buck never used Evan cause it reminded him of a part of himself he doesn’t like, but is growing to accept. It reminds him of his godawful parents and his horrible unfair childhood. Tommy calling him Evan shows how in the dark Tommy is about who Buck is.

2) I don’t think Tommy only knowing this “better” version of Buck is as romantic as it’s being played. Part of loving and truly caring for someone is knowing and accepting ALL of them. It’s literally what the show has tried to show time and time again in relationships. Buck said it himself:“they’re at their worst and you’re at your worst. And when everything seems like a sign to leave, you stay and keep trying”. Tommy calling Buck Evan shows the barrier there is between them, of Tommy not actually knowing who Buck is, and, furthermore, not genuinely caring to find out. Because, why hasn’t he questioned why they call him Buck, instead of Evan. Or why does HE keep calling him Evan when literally everyone else calls him Buck?

3) With that last point, even if Tommy is assuming it’s a nickname reserved for close friends and family, doesn’t that apply to him?

I believe this whole Evan ordeal with Tommy and Bucks relationship is a symbol of their downfall and lack of connection on a deeper level. Like a statement that Tommy’s role in Bucks life is to open him to this new part of himself and nudge him into the right direction, wherever that is.
