I’m currently in the Blue Mountains, where I grew up. The air is think and hazy with smoke from back burning smoke. This back burning is an attempt to quarter and trap wild fires before they cross big areas of bush and reach residential areas. I created this illustration in response to the news that half a billion native animals have died in the recent bushfires. This drawing is available as a fundraising art print on my @etsy shop. All profits from sales of this print will go directly to @wireswildliferescue. Look after each other, donate if you can and continue to spread awareness. Two days until ‘BLACKSPHERE/Goodbye House’ opens at @good.space gallery! I’ll be showing a collection of 13 original watercolour pieces that I’ve been working on for the past three months. Previously I’ve only been part of large group exhibitions where I’ve contributed a work or two. This exhibition is the first time I’ve had to fill an entire room with my work. These last three months have been challenging but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ve learned so much about how I work, what kind of art I want to create, when to let go of ideas and discard work and how to stay motivated. How dreamy is Sydney’s Winter? I painted in the gorgeous warm sunshine all morning making progress on my new body of work.
