¡Unpopular Opinion!

Ok so, I see a lot of people saying you shouldn’t shop on Shein, Temu, or other similar digital platforms because of issues like child labor, worker exploitation, pollution, and more. Many of them suggest alternatives like buying second-hand, thrifting, or DIY. Those are great options, and I support them.

However, I can't help but think—wouldn’t it be more effective to educate people about responsible consumption instead of simply demonizing these apps? The real issue isn’t just the people who shop there, but rather the systems that allow these practices: governments, industries, and especially overconsumption.

Why buy a piece of clothing you’ll only wear once and then throw away? If you’re going to have a big wardrobe, at least make sure you’re using everything in it and making the most out of each item.

Anyway, this is just my opinion, and I’m always open to learning more about these topics because I love fashion and stylized outfits. I believe it’s not about where you buy, but how responsibly you do it.

Bro its not even funny how much I hate English I'm literally crying after reading a ≽^-⩊-^≼ing rubric

Ok so this is kinda random but I've been thinking about it non stop for the last like two weeks.

So I was recently at an amusement park with my friends and I saw this group of gals and Ofcourse as a gal myself I complemented them just saying something simple like "yall look so cool/cute/etc". And they just look at me with just a look of disgust and is like "uh ok thanks" in like the most uninterested voice ever like rolling their eyes and crap!! And obviously I didn't say anything to them and just walked away and turned back to talking to my friend.

Now usually I wouldn't care and would've just brushed it off. But keep in mind, it was 5-6 girls who just gave me death glares for complimenting them!! Like did I do/say something wrong?? I don't know if they thought I was maybe making fun of them or something?? Keep in mind I was in old-school gal style makeup similar to the pictures below:

But basically my point is can we all just be nice to each other? It took a lot of effort and courage to actually say something to them in the first place (because I'm pretty awkward) and they were just kinda rude.

So please just be nice to people <3

Question: Do you have anything introductory for the Gyaru community/style? I don’t know much about it but it seems interesting and I would like to know more!

it's a bit complex, so I will try to make it as simple as possible :3

gyaru, also known as gal, is a Japanese fashion style dedicated to a feminine, bold look. There are many subcultures, as gyaru is a umbrella term, with some being agejo, a type of gyaru that is more mature and based on the look of a hostess, ganguro, a type of gyaru that focuses on tanning, and himekaji, a type of gyaru that's inspired by a princess look, although there is more

Gyaru was made as a counter to Japanese beauty standards, with the main focus being about tanning, which battled with japanese and overall southeast Asian beauty standards to have light skin, as well as other focuses, such as being proud of your femininity, showing skin, having big hair, and other counters that challenge feminine beauty norms while also being pretty.

gyaru is usually put into 2 types, shiro and kuro gyaru, shiro being for gyarus who don't tan, and kuro being for gyarus who do tan.

the clothing is usually "sexy", while it can be anything, things like short tops and short skirts are common, and despite it being attractive, it can be wore by anyone of any age.

hair is usually modified, sometimes being thick, curled, or even have extensions in. western, natural hair colors, usually blonde, are the most common, but any color can be worn.

accsesories are usually numerous, while not being enough to be seen as extra as Decora, or have it be the main focus, with some more common accsesories being long, usually blocky type nails with charms and decorations on it, arm and leg warmers, lecklaces, bows, hair clips, and sometimes even stylish hats.

make up is common in the gyaru community, with some examples being long eyelash extensions, eye contacts, tanned skin, heavy makeup, eyeshadow, lipstick, blush, and makeup under the eyes to make it look like the eyelids are more droopy.

despite what others say, there is no right or wrong way to be gyaru, and the fact that it's even a controversial opinion to say that is kinda annoying to me. You can be any gender, size, clothing, makeup, color, ethnicity, race, and age, or lack there off of many of those things.
