Just reread The Copper Beeches and VIOLET HUNTER APPRECIATION, WHO’S WITH ME?

She’s one of the smartest, most capable women in the whole series. She makes her own living and her own decisions. Honestly, she does most of the investigating herself out of curiosity and intuition.

She also realizes that she’s headed into a shady situation, and even though she has no other way she has the foresight to get backup from Holmes and Watson.

She’s also one of the few female characters in the series who’s happy ending doesn’t involve getting married. She doesn’t even have a love interest! She stays single and has a successful career.

Also “artistic, luxurious hair” THE CONFIDENCE! She knows what she’s about!

Anyway I hope you appreciated this stupid rant (is it a rant if it’s positive?) about why we should worship Violet Hunter.

When I was 14 and lonely, excluded at school, unhappy at home, that's what got me through. I found it with the local theatre's kids groups. You may find it in sports, clubs, the arts, religion, volunteering or anywhere really. Just be sure to give back, and they'll keep you social and full of life(if they don't, leave). Facebook has a lot of local events in my country, I know it's for boomers, but try checking it out. You're neither too good nor not good enough for any community. It's about effort(difficult, I know), try to match theirs, and you'll be fine. If you can't, that's ok, there's somewhere else for you. It may feel daunting to show up alone, but within a few weeks, you'll start feeling lighter. People need each other. Please seek them out.
